John Heflin driving his 1997 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG at the Mercedes-Benz Club of America Greater Washington Section (MBCA GWS) round 2 AutoCross at Winchester, VA for the 2011 season.
With an overcast morning practice session, the weather quickly went monsoon after lunch break. However, John did managed to achieve fastest time (FTD) for the Mercedes Class with his racing slick in the rain.

A spirited drive in a 95 Mercedes C36 AMG Up the Skulls Valley mountain pass in Lebanon
The Skulls valley mountain pass happens to be one of the most challenging roads around where i live. Recently the road has been slightly widened, paved and has also received a concrete barrier for safety.
The car is a 1995 W202 C36 AMG, fitted with TOYO R888 semi-slicks. on those tires the car drives sweet, and on such a hot day it hooks up perfectly. Unfortunately i would love to be driving the car to the max, but that would mean serious risk to me and any other road user. Also the brakes would probably fade with all the grip those tires generate.
