I suppose this has been a long time coming but for me I wanted to make sure that I made a video that would be useful to you as well as emphasized the importance of good practices when working with AC. Keep in mind refrigerant is a CFC meaning that it pretty much kills the ozone layer and if you don't respect that you WILL cause environmental damage even a little adds up so please follow the precautions in this video when working on an AC system. The other thing about AC is that it involves a lot more than just shooting a can of refrigerant into the system when it's not working right there are many systems that come into play that you need to consider such as; the health of the cooling system, cooling fan operation, the mechanical operation of the components of the system, the operation of the HVAC inside the dash, and the electronics so keep in mind if you're having a problem with your AC it could be much more than just a simple leak. I'll get off my soap box now.

Part 1: Changing Automatic Transmission Fluid & Filter On A BMW/MINI
blog.BavAuto.com -- Most people think that because BMW and MINI call their transmission fluids "Lifetime" or "Extended Service" it doesn't have to be changed. Not true. To get the most out of your transmission and avoid a costly, catastrophic failure, you should change the fluid and filter every 50,000 miles. Watch Bavarian Otto demonstrate how to do this on a BMW E39 (5 series 97 thru 03). You'll find the specific fluid and filter your BMW/MINI needs in our online store at www.BavAuto.com.

As I said in the video you need to be responsible when dealing with refrigerant, also in some locations it's not legal for you to perform your own AC work so keep that in mind and observe your local laws.

Höj volymen! Turn up the volume!
De två övre/högsta effektlägena funkar ej, fläkten går ej snabbare när de aktiveras. Går bara i "halvfart". PROBLEMET LÖST! Det var fläktmotståndet som var trasigt, bytte den och fläkten har sedan dess fungerat klockrent.
The "blower unit" (fan) doesn't want to spin any faster at the three upper levels. PROBLEM SOLVED! The final stage unit was broke. Bought a new one and replaced the original one and the fan has since then worked just fine.

BMW E39 ICV Removal and Cleaning - #ProjectE39
Gareth Foley is back working on #ProjectE39 and this time it is in the hopes of getting rid of a idle/start issue that has recently popped up intermittently. Due to some recent insights from outside sources it seems that the likely culprit could have been a blocked idle control valve. The ICV was relatively clean upon removal but there was some material that was inside. After cleaning the ICV out there was a dramatic change in engine response and idle smoothness. Definitely a recommended maintenance procedure.
