Mazda Takeri Concept
Evolving from the Mazda SHINARI, Mazda TAKERI exhibits styling that re?ects the full nature of a Mazda CD sedan, with striking balance and a masculine power; the name TAKERI is derived from a Japanese word meaning 'male.'
In developing TAKERI, Mazda was seeking a breakthrough CD sedan design. The aim was to balance striking emotional appeal with unmistakably sedan-like styling, and to do it at a level never achieved before. The result is uniquely sporty sedan styling that embodies the quality and allure demanded in the CD category.
Mazda TAKERI is fully equipped with the breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY introduced on the Mazda CX-5. Its engine is the SKYACTIV-D new-generation highly ef?cient clean diesel, which, in combination with the six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission and i-stop idling stop system, delivers re?ned performance that overturns the traditional unexciting diesel image, along with superior fuel ef?ciency.
The TAKERI concept also adopts Mazda's regenerative braking system i-ELOOP that represents Step Two of Mazda's Building Block Strategy, following i-stop.
Through the combination of regenerative braking, the highly ef?cient SKYACTIV powertrain and architecture, and i-stop, TAKERI delivers astonishingly high levels of both driving pleasure and outstanding environmental performance.
TAKERI is the embodiment of Mazda's next-generation CD sedan vision, showing the ?air of KODO design while simultaneously achieving the ultimate ef?ciency for a vehicle without hybrid technologies

Mazda North American Operations will debut the all-new version of its
popular, trend-setting, in-a-class-of-its-own, MAZDA5multi-activity vehicle
at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. Since it launched in2005, MAZDA5
redefined the definition of small family transport vehicles, by offering
seating for six in three easily configurable rows, as well as styling and
dynamics simply not found in any other vehicle in this segment.
2013 Audi RS5 - Exhaust Sound, Driving
The RS 5 Coupé is the star athlete of the A5 family. It offers the power
and handling of a powerful sports car packaged in the body of an alluringly
elegant coupe. The design has now gained several new, sharp accents, with
numerous features that characterize the other A5 models also making their
way to the RS 5.
The Audi RS 5 Coupé uses a high-revving, normally aspirated V8 displacing
4,163 cc. This engine is closely related to the V10 that powers the R8
high-performance sports car. The 4.2 FSI delivers 331 kW (450 hp) at 8,250
rpm, with the peak torque of 430 Nm (317.15 lb-ft) available between 4,000
and 6,000 rpm. The engine has a specific output of 108.1 hp per liter of
displacement. The potent response, the eager revving and the rich,
melodious sound mark the V8 as a thoroughbred racing engine.
Hand-built at the plant in Györ, Hungary, the 4.2 FSI launches the Coupé
from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 4.6 seconds. Audi will increase the
electronically governed top speed from 250 to 280 km/h (155.34 to 173.98
mph) upon request. Thanks to the combination of technologies from the Audi
modular efficiency platform, which also includes a recuperation system, the
high-tech V8 consumes significantly less fuel on average than its direct
With its high efficiency and its long top gear, the standard seven-speed S
tronic also contributes to the good fuel economy. Drivers can let the
lightning-fast dual-clutch transmission shift automatically or change gears
themselves using the selector lever or with paddles on the steering wheel.
The integrated launch control program provides for rocket-like starts by
managing the engagement of the clutch at mid-level revs.

debuts Mazda's Skyactiv technology in its entire construction, now
alongside the 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv 4 and 5DRs.

Sneek Peek- Mazda's New Sport Coupe - (RX9 or 2012 Mazda6?) www.msmazda.com
Mazda Shinari Concept debuts new face of the brand in style!
Looking at the exterior, it's easy to tell that the Shinari shares little
in common with Mazda's recent designs, although like almost every sedan
built today, it has similarities to vehicles from other brands. It's almost
as if the Aston Martin Rapide and a Mazda RX-8 cued up some Barry White,
enjoyed a romantic evening and the Shinari came out nine months later.
That's obviously a compliment, as the Rapide is a stunningly beautiful car
and the RX-8 -- even this far into its lifecycle -- is still a looker.
However, the Shinari has a much more complicated design, with more
intersecting lines and a surface area that's constantly moving and changing
depending on the lighting.
While the exterior is certainly a departure from previous designs, the
interior is perhaps the most surprising aspect of the Shinari. Easily the
most attractive and stylish interior we've seen in a Mazda (concept or
not), it's swathed in authentic aluminum trim, leather-covered surfaces and
double stitching at nearly every turn and twist. We're again drawn to the
Aston Martin Rapide comparison, especially with the design of the deep rear
bucket seats. The gauges, modeled after popular watch designs, up the class
quotient and the massive glass roof helps make the interior feel open and
But more than the tech and the attention to detail, it's the Shinari's
overall cohesion that impresses the most. Unlike other pie-in-the-sky
concepts, the Sinari is a smart, well executed styling exercise that should
be a solid design platform for future models. The muscular lines should
translate well into a production car, and customers will always appreciate
a more sophisticated interior.
We sure like the sound of a Mazda RX-9!

Mazda Shinari Concept 2010 ('KODO - Soul of Motion' design theme) *
The Mazda Shinari is a pure design concept model of a four-door,
four-seater sports coupe which perfectly expresses the 'KODO - Soul of
Motion' design theme in a graceful and carefree form.
The Japanese word Shinari describes the powerful yet supple appearance of
great resilient force when objects of high tensile strength, such as steel
or bamboo, are twisted or bent. It also refers to the appearance of a
person or animal as it flexibly transforms its body to generate a fast
movement. Within this movement, Mazda designers discovered the potential to
realize 'KODO - Soul of Motion'.
One glance at Mazda Shinari Concept stirs the emotions. Its form expresses
the powerful movement of a lean body with highly developed muscles, supple
but at the same time filled with tension. Mazda's desire is to reach car
lovers' hearts and go beyond the notion of rational logic. This form purely
embodies that desire.
Yasushi Nakamuta, the chief designer who led the design of the third
generation Mazda MX-5, was the first to begin the ideation of the Mazda
Shinari Concept: "The challenge for us was to create an innovative new
expression for energetic and powerful movement; something that we had never
attempted before. We began by developing the design around the image of a
predator, as it strikes at its prey, or the stabbing movement in kendo,
Japanese fencing, to express the instant where accumulated force is
Translating this initial moment of 'instantaneous movement' being pursued
by Mazda design into the Mazda Shinari Concept car presented various
challenges to both the designers and the modelers working on the project.
The process involved a series of activities that saw the team draw
inspiration from a variety of places. This included each team member
creating sketches and freely sculpting models from clay to represent their
own perceptions of 'KODO - Soul of Motion'. It then continued with the
exploration of the functional beauty seen in traditional Japanese crafts
and the motion witnessed in Japan's ancient martial arts.
As the team continued this exploratory process, Nakamuta focused on a force
so powerful that it can bend a strong section of steel plate. The Mazda
Shinari Concept design adds subtle twists and tension to create forms that
express agile and powerful movement, resulting in the expression of 'KODO -
Soul of Motion'...
