Don't be fooled by its more humble roots underneath, paired with this power-train combination, it really helps to give Acura's new ILX that premium car feel with its impressive combination of performance, ride quality, and technology. Factor in Acura's strong reputation for reliability and resale value and you have yourself a direct competitor to Volkswagen's GLI. We think once Acura gives this car the tech package and slightly more distinctive styling, they could have a winner on their hands. Until then, the ILX will continue to appeal to more of a niche buyer.

Meet Acura's previous best selling model, the TL. Hit with the ugly stick for the 2009 model year, it severely hampered sales of Acura once best selling luxury sedan in the segment. The 2012 refreshed helped to bring buyers back into showrooms however, with a next generation due for 2014. Acura really needs another home run, similar to what it got in 2004 with the new TL and TSX at the time.
