This was after getting it new. 100km after leaving the company i stopped to take a break and make a picture. After this it didn't start. The battery was empty (5 volt). It had to return to the company in a van. Cause: Mechanic felt the earthing cable wasn't needed between voltage regulator and the engine. Voltage regulator broke. They put on another other type regulator and since then i've never had a good charge on the bike. But this could also be the case with the old regulator.

37419 COLD START
37419 Trying it's best to start in very cold conditions on the 8th February 2007 at Old Oak Common Depot LONDON UK.
The temperature on this date was -01c - 30.21F .
The power unit is clearly COLD hence the reason it is struggling to start.It does start once the cylinder temperature rises around the 1:12 min mark.
So,Please, Please stop telling us all how cold it is in your country this video is not about that.All comments made about how cold it is in your country will be deleted,we are not interested.Thanks.

Part Two - Trouble with our 2006 Smart ForTwo CDI enroute to Winterlude in Ottawa, Ontario
This is a video showing the engine reving - to give an example of how the engine sounds and looked during troubled times.
At this point we decided to try to hobble into Mercedes-Benz dealership on Ogilvy Road in Ottawa - they were willing to take us in and look at the car on Monday, 14th February.
NB: As of February 14th - mechanic isn't sure why car isn't working (apparently they couldn't start car on Monday morning - had to push car into bay). No compression test had been done when we left today - which maybe would have revealed more of the problems. For now, we're back in Montreal, having to await their diagnosis of what happened to our car. Cha ching - so far 2 hours of mechanics time in figufing out the puzzle has been charged.

smart fortwo cdi -12C Startup (barely)
Having lots of trouble this winter with cold starts. -12 C wouldn't have been a problem other years, but something's not right... Went to change the glow plugs out but they're seized into the engine head. Battery seems OK. Could be low compression, I guess? At just over 262 000 km (4 years), now.
Ölwechsel/ Montage Ölfilteradapter - SMART W450 ölfiltersystem
Hier nun ein Video, das ich kürzlich versprochen habe.
Ich habe heute an dem Smart einen Ölwechsel durchgeführt und dabei gleich den Ölfilteradapter installiert, der die Nutzung einer üblichen Ölfilterpatrone zulässt. Das Teil ist supereinfach zu installieren und dabei mit 71,- EUR nicht einmal übermäßig teuer.
Beim nächsten Ölwechsel wird nun noch eine Wanne mit Ablassschraube installiert. Ich persönlich traue der Sache mit dem Öl absaugen nicht so richtig...
Über eure Meinungen und ggf. Erfahrungen zu diesem Zubehörteil in den Kommentaren würde ich mich freuen.
