Sorry about it being sideways at first.
At the Good Guy's car show at the Texas Motor Speedway, they had a 572 chevy motor producing 620 HP and 650 Lbs. of Torque. Well here's a video clip of it running and revving.
700 CID BBC
This is a low RPM truck motor. It was designed to run on low grade natural gas. It was used to replace a 10 liter diesel engine, so therefore not turn faster than 2500rpm. The goal was to have solid torque from 1000-2000rpm. I used stock iron heads on this build because of the budget. It is difficult to make a huge Tq/CID number at low RPM, this combo making 1.17Tq/CID. If I were to build another such combination I'd use the Dart 8.1 heads and manifold.

1967 Hot Rod Cutlass "Street Bully" 572 Chevy Big Block Burnout
1967 Cutlass "Street Bully" built in California and sold new in Tucson Arizona. The Olds now has a 572 Chevrolet Rat Roller motor with 620 HP and 650 Ft. Lbs of torque, a 700r4 gear changer with stage 2 kit and fully manual valve body, the rear end is a 3.90 posi. A Hurst shifter was installed to give it that Hurst/Olds twist and we added the original Hurst Olds badges to the car. There never was any Hurst Olds in 1967 and being a 4 door this car really freaks people out. Also there were not many 4 doors that were hard tops (notice no post between the doors)most were sedans. The bench seats really take you back to the 60's with the groovy pattern on the seat material. We added some pearl and candy ghost flames to the super faded out paint from the Arizona sun and bolted a vintage Cragar SS wheel and knock off to each corner. Its been a lot of fun and a real BLAST to drive. Make no mistake, when you hit the start button on the Bully you know that aint no 330 Olds under the hood. The only problem we seem to have with this project is keeping rear tires on it ! Thanks for looking and happy Hot Rodding!

Chevrolet ZZ572 Big Block Crate Engine (620 HP!!)
This video was taken at Darlington Raceway (SC), May 8th 2010, during a demonstration for the Chevrolet ZZ572 crate engine. The camera doesn't capture the full affect of the sound and feel of being there in person, but it came out better than I expected.
The information below is from an article at: http://www.articleinsider.com/auto/auto-parts/zz572
This big block engine is meant for serious muscle car maniacs, and proudly boasts 620 horsepower with 650 foot-pounds of torque--and that's just the wimpy model! The race version of the ZZ572 packs in an additional 100 ponies and 35 foot-pounds, as well as an amped up 12:1 compression ratio.
If you're not planning a moon shot, however, the small block variety will probably suffice. You'll still get more than enough power, as well as steel-forged craftsmanship, and the same GM-back quality guarantee. After all, your crate engine is sealed all the way up to the intake valves, so you know it's tamper-proof and fully loaded, with no missing or defective parts.
Even though GM offers several turnkey versions of the 572, it's the big block model that's garnering the most attention, and rightly so. Based upon the Sportsman Gen VI block, the 572 offers up steel shotpeened rods, a 10-inch deck, and at least a 9.6:1 compression ratio. Yes, the race version packs a slightly bigger wallop, but it also comes with its commensurate price tag.
As with many GM crate engines, the 572 includes an HEI distributor built in, R42XLS spark plugs, and a mechanical secondary carburetor. This fully self-contained unit means you don't have to track down any additional engine accessories. Just unwrap your new big block and you're all set--provided, of course, you've got a muscle car in which to fit it.
