Car Engine Does not Start

Any thoughts on what it sounds and why it does not start? The first two sounds I'm guessing are the solenoid and the starter not working, the following click sounds are when trying to turn it on after contact... the other sound that comes is when trying to turn it on from zero.

How to diagnose a bad starter, ignition, neutral safety switch!
The re are 3 wires or electrodes on all starters. One is the large bolt that is attached to the main positive battery cable. One is the small wire that is sometimes purple that is attached to the ignition switch "key". And one is just a copper wire or electrode that supplies a ground/power to the starter from the solenoid.

1994 Subaru Legacy will not start (timing belt jumped)
Apologies in advance for the extremely long video. I spend the first few minutes explaining the problem I'm having with the car. 1994 Subaru Legacy EJ22 5-speed AWD. Died on highway last month and would not restart. Have been getting diagnostic help from http://bbs.legacycentral.org . This video is to show a grinding noise I'm getting while cranking. Car will crank but will not start. Sounds like it is trying to start. Checked and I have spark, fuel and air. More background on the car: 292,000 miles on body and engine 216,000 on transmission 30,000 on timing belt apx. 5,000 miles since tune-up (spark plugs, fluids and filters (except fuel filter) This has me stumped. I'd like to fix it, but I am also car shopping. Car was running perfectly before this. I bought it in October, 2006 with 204,000 miles on it and have driven and maintained it since then. Was a reliable daily driver until last month and handled my 90 mile round trip commute with ease in al weather. UPDATE - car has since been fixed and sold. Traced issue to a jumped timing belt (idler pulley had seized). Car would crank OK, but would not start, check out my blog: http://mercedesdieselguy.blogspot.com

Ford Escort 1.8D 1996 mk6 - cold engine troubles
Hi! I am currently having some troubles with my Escort. On a cold engine, it is very hard to start. When started however, it runs smooth for ~1 minute before it sounds completely terrible. Going VRR... VRR..VRR - then after 5 minutes of warming up the engine, it will run smooth, and also start up beautifully for as long as the engine is warm. Thanks in advance for any help!! It is MUCH appreciated! PS and quite obviously you don't have to tell me I need to get that fan belt changed... I've bought it already, just haven't had the time yet :)
