Nothing too exciting, just driving around in the 97 Riviera after the engine swap. This car handles excellent and has an unbelievable smooth ride. The noise from the front end mentioned in the video ended up being a bad wheel bearing which has since been replaced.
Riding in the Riviera, Visiting another Riviera
This video was made after I got the new engine in, I just never got around
to uploading it. A little drive in the car over to my friends house to
have a look at another 97 Riviera I bought before I got my green one. That
one does not run and still needs work. I intend to sell that one, I don't
need 2 of these, and I definitely don't have the space.
Removing the engine on my 97 Riviera
Pulling the knocking 3800 supercharged out of my Riviera to make way for
the replacement engine. Came out relatively easy thanks to the engine
wiring for the most part is one harness that unplugs at the firewall.
Everything is in that harness except the starter, alternator and speed
sensor wiring. The AC compressor and power steering pump unbolt and can be
left in the car so you don't have to drain the fluid/refrigerant. The
biggest pain was getting the axis motor mount off, the bolts were pretty
rusty. The ironic part is those bolts have to be removed to change the
belts, which are so cracked and chipped I wouldn't doubt they are original.
The old engine will either be used for parts, or I may rebuild it at some
Replacing rear shocks on the 97 Riviera
The original rear air shocks went out my Riviera, they were leaking and the
air ride was not working anymore. I picked up a pair of Monroe shocks for
$69 and put them in. This is a real easy straight forward job that took
under an hour to do. If only everything was this easy to do on this car!
1997 Buick Riviera Supercharged
I have had my Riviera now for 6 years, by far one of the best cars that I
have owned. Stylish, comfort, and has the sleek looks...along with the 3800
engine and Supercharger.
My Car - 1996 Buick Riviera 3.8 Supercharged
Yes it's MY car, you just never hear much about it because it's always
confined in our garage. It's rarely ever out. This had about 63,000 miles
on it when we bought it and in seven years we put only 12,000 miles on it.
(2,500 was our trip from AZ to PA)

Okay for Devon, this has been a money pit, and well 1st week he had the car
he spent 1500 for paint, 2nd week the engine locked up, after I dropped a
used engine in it, another 1000 later, Okay update, cleared the check engine
light and problems so far solved!, trans shifts normal for the most now!
any damage I blame on Advance auto parts, one for reading the codes to him,
but telling him he couldn't clear any fault codes? I'm like Okay whatever.
I never heard of an OBDII scan tool that couldn't clear the light out. so
he drove it after the fact, anyways my friend Joel brought his scan tool
over, we cleared the codes, and like magic, the trans was back in order for
the most, and well now 2 days later light still out and driving good, so
some good signs
New project: 1997 Buick Riviera Supercharged
PIcked this one up off Craigslist for $400 plus $50 to deliver it. Car
runs and drives but has what sounds like rod knock. I still need to to
some diagnostic work, but that's what it sounds like to me, and the guy I
bought it from was a mechanic and thinks the same. The car is fully loaded
with what looks to be every option offered right down the traction control
and engine block heater. The car has just under 100k on it and it in
excellent shape in and out. The car has been sitting for a year or so and
looks it, but it will get washed when it gets warmer.
1995 Buick Riviera Transmission swap pt. 1
Swapping the tranny in the Riv I just bought. The subframe is a 1 piece
deal so I am going to pull the engine out of the top, instead of dropping
it like I normally would. I also have to change a few things, water
pump, and put a new rattler coupler in the blower.

HOW TO CHANGE THE SUPERCHARGER OIL ON A GM 3800 SERIES II V6
just a quick instructional video of how to properly change the Supercharger oil on your 3800... some people say
just to re-top off your Supercharger,
but many owners as well as a good number of master mechanics ive talked to
about it that worked on these cars, they say to full out replace it by
draining it and putting new oil in, simply because if you know anything
about oil youd know that it breaks down over time especially because of
heat and friction. new oil handles it better and keeps it properly
lubricated and cooler temperature. old oil will be dirty, maybe burned,
and possibly ineffective if broken down enough over time. which method you
trust is up to you, im not saying either method is right or wrong, this one
just makes more sense to me, therefore thats the one i do on my car so we
made the instructional video for this, if you choose simply to top off your
oil, do all the same steps just dont empty the old oil first.
3800 Series 2 Supercharged Modular Pulley System MPS Demo
Just a quick moduler pulley system "MPS" Demo.
The biggest bang for the buck mod for any Supercharged car is dropping
pulley sizes. Thats pretty much the first thing Supercharged car owners are
looking to buy when they get their cars.
As always scanning is the most important thing and I appologize for the
movie quality. I filmed this video on low res when I made it and Movie
Maker and Youtube degraded it more.
.1 drop in size = 1 extra pound of Boost
All 3800 Vendors offer excellent systems with lots of sizes
and as mentioned my system is made by "American Supercharger" on Ebay
