Electric Supercharger brushless motor activation. This is an experimental twin 24V electric Supercharger designed to produce 4 to 5 psi of Boost pressure on small V6 engines and 4 cylinder engines. This particular electric Supercharger uses a specially modified snap action micro switch for activation. Plans for this electric Supercharger are still in developement and should be ready soon.

Built in a shed, it fired up first go. I was hoping it would sound real lumpy like a drag engine, but it runs too smooth, and it's too quiet even with unsilenced 9" pipes! The timing was a pain to sort out the Rover distributor runs backwards, I had to take the heads off to work out the firing order!!! See the shed it was built in on Vid 1.
Added May 2012: OK, my nails are dirty, maybe because I'm an engineer & build stuff? Maybe your nails are clean because you can't build eff-all & just sit behind your computer? C'mon folk, get a life.

Students in my High Performance class took on the challenge of testing if an electric Supercharger would increase performance. You can decide for yourself if they are worth the investment. We did not test all makes and brands of electric Superchargers so results may vary based on engine displacement and Volumetric Efficiency (VE)

LeBaron Electric Twin Superchargers
My LeBaron with twin-electric Boosters installed. Just the cheapie cage blower types. Dead space 20s-1.10s between runs. First run with them off and second run with them on, on the same amount of road. Not much difference but the higher end is more. Only on86 octane and no Boosters or fuel additives.

Do Electric Superchargers Work? That is a good question and the answer to that question is yes. A real electric Supercharger or electric turbocharger can work. However many people are confused about how these electric Superchargers can add performance to your naturally aspirated engine.
No to be confused with those cheap sheet metal inline fans placed inside a rubber coupler but a real turbocharger compressor being powered by a brushless motor.
