What is VTEC and How Does it Work? - EricTheCarGuy
I've been editing some full length video this week and I came across this bit from a car I worked on last spring. The animations are courtesy Honda Motor Company, thanks guys. I think the title is self explanatory and I hope the video makes it a little clearer for those who are curious about this system and how it works. I've had a couple of requests for this and I hope this answers those questions.

Dissecting an Engine, The Basic Parts and Their Function - EricTheCarGuy
Dissecting an Engine, The Basic Parts and Their Function - EricTheCarGuy
http://www.ericthecarguy.com/
I've had more than one request for this and since I had a few hours while sitting on my butt waiting for my Dodge engine to show up I thought I would fill the time by making this video for you. I have to say that after the first edit I wasn't too happy and went back and reshot not once but twice and even then I still felt I didn't cover it the way I liked. I should really start scripting these videos, it would make my life soo much easier. Anyway don't be too rough on me if you have differing opinions as I'm willing to accept them in the comments if you are nice about it but if your going to tear me a new one then please make a video of your own explaining why as at least then we will be on the same playing field.

Blowing up a D series. Hilarity ensues.
A friend of mine sucked up some water driving in the rain last night. He said it started acting up on him, so he parked it at a gas station. Started it this morning, and had a slight knock in rod number 3. He drove it about two miles before it was just completely toast.... so we put it out of it's misery. Everything went better than expected.
Note the chunks of connecting rod and block under the header.
