Renault has provided a preview glimpse of its new concept car, DeZir, ahead of this year's Paris Motor Show. DeZir powered by an electric motor illustrate Renault's commitment to more emotional styling. The DeZir project is the first to have been led by Laurens van den Acker and marks the start of a sequence of concept cars that will provide an insight into Renault Design's new vision for the future. It also lays the foundations for the styling cues of Renault's forthcoming vehicles. The public will get its first opportunity to see DeZir at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

Supersonic Flight, Sonic Booms
Video by Glenn Pew (http://www.glennpew.com/) for AVweb.com. Sound travels at about 760 miles per hour, or 340 meters per second and about 661 knots on an average day at sea level. And sometimes, you can almost see it. Going close to that speed through air can cause some unusual visual effects. This compiled footage includes F-14s, standard and Blue Angels F-18s, plus the SR-71 and an Atlas Rocket launch. AVweb contacted sources at NASA to research the phenomena.
Thrust SSC Supersonic Car - The Final Run 66 - Cockpit View - Black Rock Desert, Nevada - 1997
Thrust SSC Supersonic Car - Historic Archive Footage of the Final Run 66. View from the Live Cockpit Camera with Supersonic Driver - Wing Commander Andy Green, OBE, on Black Rock Desert - Nevada, USA. Time - 10:05:00 - Wednesday 15th October 1997 (Local Time). This was the second of 2 supersonic runs (Runs 65 and 66) that together set the World Land Speed Record of 763mph or 1228km/h that still holds today more than 12 years later, and was indeed the FIRST record at supersonic speed!
The Thrust SSC Car is driven by twin Rolls-Royce Spey Engines with 11,000hp and 50,000lbs thrust! They provide the power to achieve 0 to 600mph in just 16 seconds. Run 66 achieved a peak speed of 771mph - Mach 1.02 - and an average speed of 766.609mph over the measured mile! The distance covered during this final run was 14 miles.
In this now historic archive video you'll see the large round "Mach" Speed Meter on the left side of the various dials - as the car pushes through the 700mph barrier you'll see the Mach Speed Hand rapidly move across the dial to an indicated peak supersonic Mach Speed of an estimated Mach 1.02 - with sonic booms being experienced across the desert flats. The main speedometer is just to the right of the Mach Gauge, and during the run you'll see the needle move from the top position around the gauge to the max 771 mph! Wow!
You can see all the in-depth project details and various news reports of the Thrust SSC Car and other historic archive materials on the outstanding website which is now preserved for archive study at : www.thrustssc.com .
The project was directed by Richard Noble, OBE, who has recently launched a new project - Bloodhound SSC - with the target of achieving 1000mph - See the new website - www.bloodhoundssc.com - and join the club now! The Thrust SSC Car now resides for public viewing, including an impressive cockpit simulator in the Coventry Transport Museum - England.

Bloodhound SSC 1000 mph rocket car, land speed record attempt
Equinox Graphics is proud to present the visualisation of Bloodhound SSC, the trans-sonic rocket car aiming to smash the current land speed record and raise it to a mind-bending 1000 mph (Mach 1.4). The car is being designed and built in Britain, and Equinox Graphics has had the privilege of working in association with the design team to bring the car to life.
The minute-long viral video was produced on time and at High Definition (1920x1080, 25fps, full GI/radiosity) in just three weeks - including rendering time on our computer cluster.
The animation has proved extremely popular with the world's media, and has proved to be the ideal medium for engaging the public's imagination. It has so far been featured on BBC news (TV and online), and on stations as diverse as CNN and Al Jazeera.

OFFICIAL Top 10 Fastest Production Cars In The World 2013-2014 UPDATED V6.0
Hello! Loucam08 here. Here's my new edition of T10FPCITW. It took my quite a lot of time to do this - 5 days in fact - so this isn't just a quickly thrown together powerpoint like /watch?v=VNQv6v_T_LU (trollface)
I have to admit I have been a bit optimistic with the previous version, by listing modified cars and cars that probably will never exist. But fear not! That's why I made this video.
Just in case you think some of these cars don't exist, I've got sources for this video.
This video has a very soulful touch that only the biggest car enthusiasts will feel. This video has a sense of emotion about it. Even though I have no idea what I going on about, you may feel it. Probably not, but there's a chance.
"Pandalloy Powered" Worlds Fastest Street Car @ 283mph - PPR Standing Mile Guinness World Record
Performance Power Racing Re-Sets the Guinness World Records holding for Fastest Standing Mile-Street Car at 283.232 mph
Johnny Bohmer Owner of Performance Power Racing and Driver of the World Famous BADD GT, along with Matt Lundy, Lead Design Tech, piloted the 1700+ horse power Ford GT down NASA's Shuttle Landing Facility Runway this week setting a new Guinness World Record at 283.232 mph in the Standing Mile. The Standing Mile is an event in which a vehicle, from a dead stop, accelerates completely through the one mile mark.
"Automotive Racing is the perfect channel to introduce some of the new technologies we are working on in to the main stream market. The Pandalloy™ Aluminum Alloys Project through Performance Power Materials, Inc is very exciting. The multiple series of Aluminums are vastly outperforming what is on the market today and we are excited to see how far we can push the limits of performance, and more importantly efficiency to have a positive impact worldwide. We break records to prove that these systems and designs really do function and can be implemented on vehicles of all types." said Johnny Bohmer.
Performance Power Racing is a West Palm Beach based Research and Development Company working directly with Pratt & Whitney on a new high specific strength, high temperature tolerant, Aluminum Alloy branded Pandalloy™. Performance Power has successfully transitioned and implemented Aerospace Technology in to the Automotive World. Parts were specifically designed and manufactured out of Pandalloy™ Aluminum Alloys for the World Record Setting Ford GT. Performance Power successfully proved that Aerospace Technology can be effectively used to lower emissions, increase fuel economy, and lower a vehicles carbon footprint through their performance testing at NASA's Kennedy Space Center Shuttle Landing Facility.
"Our entire team has worked very hard to get here and we are proud to be able to put an American car in the record books as the fastest street car in the world." Mr. Bohmer said about the achievement. "By NASA allowing us access to a one of a kind facility, we are given the opportunity to explore these technologies and share their benefits. An immense amount of research and development went in to this 3 year project and we are just scratching the surface of where these systems can be utilized outside of the racing arena."
