A SIII 88" 200Tdi, vs 110 200Tdi vs Discovery 300Tdi to see which of their vehicle's had the greatest drawbar pull to weight ratio. The SIII won with 60%, the 110 50% and the Disco very close behind with 49%. This was all tested on loose soil, against a moving load of a Case tractor at set speeds, with a load sensor inbetween. Filmed at Harper-Adams University College in the 'Soil Hall'.

after the 1st bus gets dug out another an impatient luxury bus driver in Bolivia decides to get around a jammed road by using a 4x4 bypass-it doesn't go too well at the end either. The approach angle of the bus is not so good, LOL. So near & yet so far....
5th Wheel Land Rover Defender - Off Road with 45ft Caravan
The end of an epic 3 week journey. The caravan is a 45ft 5th wheel trailer, made in the US, being pulled by a 1984 Land Rover Defender. The caravan was arrested and put in custody by the Police... it is a long story and may one day end up on youtube... It was damaged when we got it back... but this video is about the last 100ft of the journey. Positioning the caravan took nearly all day and there was at least 9 of us. The Land Rover is a very special one, built by Land Rover and registered to them for the early part of its life. The chassis is specially strengthened for the full size 5th wheel, it has vacuum brakes for the trailer and is having air brakes fitted. Soon to be featured in Land Rover World magazine. I thought it would be nice to show the Land Rover doing the kind of work it was built for, shame we needed a tractor to give us a nudge ;)
