How to Customize a Universal Cold Air Intake Filter System
Spectre Performance demonstrates in this video how to customize a universal cold air intake kit using parts you can find at your local neighborhood Pep Boys. Using universal parts you can simply assemble them in any fashion to create the look you want to make. First we take off the existing air cleaner and install a single 4 inch plenum. Lay the plenum where your air filter was and put it in any direction you like. Screw on the plenum with the existing air filter nut or a custom nut of your choice. You will need couplers that will connect the different intake tubes together that can be turned to mold within your engine compartment. Simply slide on the coupler to the plenum and fit accordingly. Secure the clamp on the coupler to the ridge inside and then you can add additional tubing for the length you desire. Remember not to tighten the clamps too hard, because you may need to move your tubing around until you create a final fit. Rotate and adjust as needed. Attach your air filter to the end of the tubing. You can find inserts that go into the filter to accommodate a 3 or 3.5 inch tube. Once you have the final placement in place, be sure then to go back and tighten all of the clamps to hold the filter system securely in place. The advantages to having a custom air intake filter system located in the front of your engine is that you can take advantage of the air stream and receive colder air going into the intake system instead of the hot air that your standard filter was providing. Customizing your cold air intake system is pretty simple once you know a few simple tricks. Not only will your new custom air intake system look great, but it will increase your engine's overall performance. You can see more of these great DIY'er videos from www.pepboys.com or stop in your local Pep Boys for more information.

Great Idea for lifting a car
Here is an outstanding idea for lifting and working safely under any automobile. This Lift Stands is made to be used with any type of floor jack, and they do not get in the way like jack stands do. They are great to use for doing any type of work under the car or simply changing the motor oil. Bigger guys that need the extra room will love them. Lift Stands also can be used at car shows for displaying your car. I also like using them when doing body work for a more comfortable position when working on a side panel.

HOW TO GET HP, TQ & MPG FREE
an alternate to buying an expensive c.a.i., this is a free mod. What you do is remove the resonator in/on/outside the airbox, this in turn will remove ANY restriction and unlike most 'cold' air intakes, this one keeps the box that separates hot air around the engine from the cold air from outside to be sucked up. http://www.fordrangerforum.com http://www.fordrangerforum.com/engine-drivetrain-guides/4040-how-air-silencer-removal-cold-air-intake.html
