Flyin Miata build LS3 miata with gm crate motor. Dyno'd 280hp due to massive wheelspin on the Dyno rollers. I was hit in the face by burning chunks of tire. crank hp 430
LS3 Startup in My Chevelle
This is the first time I'm starting the new LS3 515hp GM Performance Parts crate motor in my '66 Chevelle. Naturally, it wasn't completely trouble-free, but I am extreme impressed with the MSD ignition that needed absolutely nothing to work flawlessly and the FAST EZ-EFI fuel injection that asked a few questions and then started the engine!
Country drive in an LS3 Miata
Cruising around in a 480 horsepower Miata enjoying a late autumn afternoon. No traffic laws were harmed while making this video- really! The wide angle camera makes it seem a lot faster than it is.
Video is from a GoPro Motorsports Hero HD camera using the "open back" case with the holes in the case taped off with packing tape. This is the best solution I've found to capture the Exhaust "music" without too much wind noise.
Miata V8 5.0 First Drive
2nd short drive really but who's counting. Interior yet to go in, still fine tuning engine. Lots of fun so far, though!

Mazdaspeed miata 17psi vs 6.0 LS2 GTO 440 hp
If you want to run water meth on your Mazdaspeed mx5 I recommend a 3 gallon per hour nozzle & 14.5 psi of Boost with the stock injectors & I disconnect my throttle position sensor to give more fuel a lower rpm's when I know I will be hitting the gas & reconnect the TP sensor when I am just cruising around. With TP sensor connected I go full throttle only above 5000 rpm's where it switches between open & closed loop at anything above 10.5 psi. I do not run 17 psi all the time just did a few times. Most of the time I have it set to 14.5 psi. I feel very safe at 14.5 psi with water/meth injection. & on curvy mountain roads sometimes I will shut the water/meth off & turn the Boost down to 10 or 10.5 psi. Mazdaspeed mx5 1.8L turbo, 2450lbs, FM intake, FM downpipe, no muffler, Devils Own progressive water/meth kit, Denso 321cc injectors, 17psi VS 6.0L LS2 Pontiac GTO cold air intake & Exhaust pipes 440hp.

Flyin Miata FM IIR turbo dyno run 448 hp 402 lb/ft
The FM IIR is the latest evolution of Flyin' Miata's famous turbo system. It incorporates an external wastegate with a divorced downpipe and a big GT3071R turbo. In this case, the turbo is mounted on one of FM's 2.0 stroker motors. It's running on E85 fuel using an FM Big Fuel kit and ignition is handled by a set of LS3 coils courtesy of FM's Big Spark kit. The Exhaust is an FM 3" system.
This run made 448 hp and 402 lb/ft, which is just about as much as our Dyno can handle before we hit the torque limits of the wheel units. It was also getting close to the limit of the 1000cc injectors, although the FM Big Fuel kit wasn't having any trouble moving the fuel.
This is the first time I've seen the car actually move on this Dyno.
