Ford Retractable
I bought two Ford Skyliners that were in poor condition in 1986. I used the best parts out of each car to make one.
It has a 390 Ford engine with a C-6 transmission and it has power windows, power doors, power seats and the top works with a keyless remote.
The car has won numerous awards and it was in the 2007 Official State Visitors Guide and Travel Planner.
1959 FORD SKYLINER - THE LAST YEAR FOR THIS MODEL
1957 BROUGHT ABOUT THE FIRST FORD SKYLINER, A RETRACTABLE CONVERTIBLE COUPE, A STEEL HARDTOP / CONVERTIBLE. 20,766 WERE BUILT FOR THE '57 MODEL YEAR. THE '58 MODEL YEAR PRODUCED 14,713, AND IN FIFTY NINE THE FINAL YEAR FOR THIS UNIQUE VEHICLE, FORD PRODUCED 12,915. MANY RELAY SWITCHES, PUMPS AND MOTORS LIFTED THE STEEL HARDTOP ROOF WHILE THE LARGE TRUNK LID WOULD OPEN LIKE A CLAMSHELL, AND A STEEL BOOT WOULD CLAMP SHUT AS THE ROOF FOLDED INTO THE TRUNK. A STEEL TUB HELD ANY LUGGAGE - USUALLY TWO SUITCASES, WITHIN. SO, TRUNK SPACE WAS VERY LIMITED. THIS '59 SKYLINE COST $3,346 AND POWERED WITH EITHER A 292 CID, 200 BHP, OR 225 CID, 225 BHP, OR 352 CID, 300 BHP. THE WEIGHT OF THIS CAR WAS 4,064 LBS. THIS VIDEO SHOWS THE ROOF AND TRUNK HELD IN MID-POSITION SO YOU CAN EASILY SEE THE MECHANICS INVOLVED. ALSO NOTICE THE SMALL LUGGAGE TUB IN THE TRUNK. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT RESTORATION AND A RARE CAR, THE LAST YEAR OF THE FORD SKYLINER. Another rare car brought to you by 55lincoln. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR VIEWING.

1957 Ford Fairlane 500 - "Crusin' with the top down"
1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner with a retractable hardtop, 292Cid V8, and automatic transmission that has 37k miles(believe to be actual but have no proof). The first owner had the car for 44 years, and when purchased in 2001 it had been sitting in a barn since 1981. The car had a complete frame on restoration in 2002. During the restoration the 292 V8 engine and automatic transmission was rebuilt (around 2,500 miles ago). New parts include brakes, master and wheel cylinders, and whitewall tires. The retractable hard top makes this car really sweet and a little different. For more info, please call 1-800-231-3616.
