Electric Taxi and Electric Car Challenge in Korea
http://www.zapworld.com ZAP 100% Electric Taxi in Korea EV Challenge. The first-ever Korea Electric Vehicle (SUV Taxi) Challenge took place March 2010 outside Seoul with electric car pioneer ZAP and distribution partner in Korea Samyang Optics entering two vehicles under development, the Alias electric car and A380 electric SUV.
This was ZAPs first public demonstration of the Alias electric car and SUV. ZAPs two 100 percent electric vehicles (EVs) drove along a 200km/124.3mi route at an average speed of 85kph (52.8mph) as part of the EV Challenge. Using a new lithium battery system, the ZAP SUV drove 195 km, on a single charge. The ZAP Alias concept car completed 50 miles on traditional lead acid batteries before requiring a recharge. ZAP will be using lithium batteries in a test this May. The three-day event included manufacturers of electric vehicles, batteries and chargers.
EV Review - i-MiEV Part 2
EV Review. Our Electric Vehicle review team Bruce & Eric will test drive and review Electric Vehicles as they become available in Australia.
This review site also assumes the viewer has moved on from all the classic myths about why EVs are bad for the earth and is just a passing fancy. For those sharing such views there are plenty of forums and TV series such as Top Gear that will reinforce stereotype views of the larger commercial motoring industry supporting faster and higher speed transport or better "Off Road" hardware. We are talking about simple point "A" to point "B" comfortable transport in a mechanically simplified vehicle largely recharged form renewable energy sources such as the solar panels mounted on our houses. We also support pure simple state of the art battery plug-in technology over complex hybrid vehicle technology.
