That's because these cars are designed and built with great fuel economy as the goal but when you combine their naturally aspirated engines with the lack of air in Denver, Colorado the results are predictable. So which of these two cars is the fastest. We found out the old fashioned way: a mile high drag race.

2013 Acura ILX Hybrid CVT with Technology Package In-Depth Review
The 2013 Acura ILX Hybrid CVT comes with a 1.5L I-4 producing 111HP and 127 lbs. ft. torque while having an EPA estimated 39MPG city and 38MPG highway. The starting price is $28,900 and the one shown is $34,400 (with Technology Package).
The 2013 ILX is also available in a 2.0L I-4 producing 150HP and 140 lbs. ft. torque while having an EPA estimated 24MPG city and 35MPG highway. The starting price is $25,900.
The ILX is also available in 2.4L I-4 producing 201HP and 170 lbs. ft. torque with an EPA estimated 22MPG city and 31MPG highway. The 2.4L version is only available in a 6 Speed Manual Transmission. The starting price is $29,200.
