Bad Baja Bug, Barstow!
Out at the off-road races in Barstow 11/7/09, Sarah and Joe take the 'Bump and Roll' built Bad Baja out for a ride at the MDR Stoddard 250.
1970 Turbo Baja Bug
First prolonged fire up of my new turbo motor, fresh Exhaust paint smoking at the end. Just got to figure out an accelerator cable return spring that works.
The rattling was my new starter motor... pulled it and the ring round the shaft that stops the throwout gear on there has gone bang and left a collar rattling arund on the shaft, slapping the flywheel etc... goodtimes! Sorted though. ahhhh...
Garrett T2 sucking on a Dellorto 40, glorious sound! The neighbours looks were fairly piercing so please, enjoy! :-)
Baja bug - Part 2: Side bars
More progress on the street-legal Baja Bug I'm building from a 1967 Volkswagen beetle. In this episode I'm building the side nudge or nerf bars. These are intended to keep scrub away from the rear fenders and wheels so they are about the same depth as the rear fenders and are braced to the B pillar.
