v8 miata car walkaround.MTS

Here's my conversion. Eagle stroker internals, 11.5:1 compression, custom ground comp cam from comp cams, Dart Pro1 Heads, complete MSD ignition system, walbro 255 fuel pump with bypass fuel system, Quick fuel 750 carb with mechanical secondaries, Edlebrock Air Gap intake, March under drive pulleys and brackets, custom World Class T5, custom 7.5 rear diff, custom valved Bilstein HD's from fat cat motorsports with ground control coil overs, and gauges galore. There is a ton more that i have done to the car but thats the nitty gritty.

331 V8 Miata first autocross
Here's my first autocross after getting the V8 conversion complete. The on-board video recording had some problems, but I pieced together what I could. It was a good day. Only real mechanical issue had to do with the power steering fluid overheating. More video on vimeo[dot]com

A 250 hp Miata vs a 430 hp Corvette
ProAutoSports and Bob Bondurant team up to hold a track day at the Bondurant High Performance and Race Driving School near Phoenix. This video clip features a moderately modded 2004 MazdaSpeed Miata with 250 hp following a 430 hp late model Corvette. The well driven Miata (with a passenger in the car) does pretty well considering the huge power advantage of the Corvette, but the Vette does eventually pull ahead slowly.

331 V8 Miata first chassis dyno
This is my first chassis Dyno pull w/ the V8 in the miata. No tuning this session. Just wanted to do a baseline pull. 360hp/330ft-lb. There's definitely some tuning needed, but not a bad start. Update: after switching to a smaller carb and small amount of tuning, we made 390hp/375ft-lb.

Jim D-V8 Miata-first drive. Ford 5.0-5 speed.09-13-2010.
It feels so good to be able to drive this after ten months of work. Still more work (obviously) to do, but we're getting there.

Miata v8 5.0 Quiet!
Got it too quiet. Shorty headers, air injected cats, H pipe, resonators, Magnaflows. Wife and neighbors like it. Fine for now, can make the resonators optional later with flanges if I want the music louder.
