Fuel is by synthetic town gas, a mixture of H2, Methane and CO. It is nothing short of amazing that it still exists and is believed to be the earliest operating internal combustion in the world. This rare moment was filmed by myself at Deutz and has been posted here with their permission.

1868 Otto Langen - Oldest running gas engine in the USA
1868 Otto Langen. Start up and operaton of the 1/2 HP Atmospheric Noncompression engine. This is the oldest operating internal combustion engine in the USA. Fueled by Hydrogen with open flame ignition. Video taken at the August 2011 Rough & Tumble engine show.

GIANT 1918 Hit and Miss Engine
This is another RAM TOUGH PRODUCTION. This it a GIANT 1918 Hit and Miss Engine that was used in a grits mill. and it still runs GREAT to be from 1918!!!
This was at the 17th Annual Old Fashion Planter's Day. (March 28-29, 2009) at Ammon, North Carolina

This is redneck ingenuity in its purist form. An old car frame, some tired iron, a few belts and pulleys and away we go.

Beim Stationärmotortreffen in Gütterlitz / Thüringen konnte ich diesen schönen Aufbau filmen.
Dabei treibt ein Deutz MAH Standmotor eine Bohrmaschine, eine Säge und eine Schleifscheibe an.

Zum Stationärmotortreffen Auma / Gütterlitz 2009 habe ich eine DVD mit 60 Minuten Spielzeit erstellt.
Beim 4. Stationärmotortreffen in Gütterlitz 2009 konnte ich diesen Standmotor der Motorenfabrik Darmstadt aufnehmen.
Gestartet wurde der Motor mit Hilfsmotor, der mittels eines Generators einen Elektromotor antreibt. Dieser dreht per Reibrad das Schwungrad des Motors an bis er anspringt.

1928 Buick Country Club Coupe 1st Start in 50 Years
My Great Grandfather bought this car in 1929 from the Buick dealer in Perryman, Md. with only a few hundred miles on it. He paid $900 for it, a hefty sum considering most new cars at the time were under $400. He was the last one to hear it run until today. By the way, I could not tell while looking through the camera if the lights were on or off.

175 HP Otto Dedication Run At Coolspring Power Museum
This was the official dedication Startup/Run for the 175 HP Otto at Coolspring Power Museum in Coolspring, PA. This took place at the Power Technology Building - 1:00 Friday October 19th, 2007 The first minute is part of the cerimony prior to the start-up. The man operating the air starting lever on head actually operated this engine at the Brookville Water Works prior to its removal in 1969 !!!!
