BMW TwinPower turbo technology provides for both sporty power development and exceptional efficiency of the engines available at market introduction. The high-performance V8 power unit in the BMW 650i Coupe produces 300 kW/407 hp. The six-cylinder in-line petrol engine in the BMW 640i Coupe develops 235 kW/320 hp. The BMW 640d Coupe is powered by a new six-cylinder in-line diesel engine delivering 230 kW/313 hp. All of these engines are combined with an eight-speed Sport automatic transmission as standard equipment. Also part of the standard equipment is an extensive range of BMW EfficientDynamics measures, including the Auto Start-Stop function and ECO PRO mode (in the BMW 640i Coupe and BMW 640d Coupe). For the first time in the BMW 6 Series, the BMW 650i Coupe can also be equipped with BMW xDrive, the intelligent four-wheel drive system.

The 4.4litre eightcylinder engine in the new BMW 650i Coupé is unique in that the brace of turbochargers are positioned in the Vshaped area between the cylinder banks. This design results in more efficient packaging and greater engine efficiency. A maximum 407hp is developed between 5,500 and 6,400rpm, with peak torque of 600Nm available between 1,750 and 4,500rpm.
The new BMW 650i Coupé sprints from zero to 62mph in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. For a model of such blistering performance and refinement, it is also extraordinarily efficient, with average combined fuel consumption of 26.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 246g/km.
All-New 2012 BMW 6 Series Coupe - In/Out/Driving [HD]
BMW presents the third generation of the BMW 6 Series Coupe. The vehicle combines the dynamics of a 2+2-seater sports car with touring comfort. The body length and wheelbase 75 millimetres longer than the predecessor model, enhancing seating comfort for rear passengers with a esporty appearance thanks to a 39-millimetre increase in width and 5-millimetre reduction in height. The model will have two engine variants available from launch: BMW 650i Coupe with eight-cylinder powerplant (300 kW/407 hp), BMW 640i Coupe with six-in-line petrol unit (235 kW/320 hp).
2012 BMW 650i M Package Coupe Drive and Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2012 BMW 650i M Package Coupe is no longer the ugly duckling of the BMW family as it now sports a much more modern and elegant design. Gone is slightly awkward mishmash of cut lines replaced by a lowered, stretched and widened car with huge helping of serious road presence. If you like your BMW's shaken and not stirred...this is the one for you.
Performance: In a word...earth stopping. The BMW 650i Coupe's 32-valve V-8, aluminum put our 400 HP with 450 pound feet of torque. And in this case it is the torque that you can really feel a the car pushes you back in the drivers seat like a pissed off samurai when you floor the car in almost any of it's eight...that's right...eight forward gears. BTW: Our tester had the M Sport package which cost $4,400 dollars more and adds body kit, LED fog lights, and an M steering wheel, amoung other expensive goodies.
Ride and handling are really up to you as the BMW lets you select through comfort plus, comfort, sport, and sport plus settings. That's right, while most cars only have three settings the BMW goes to four. And each of the setting actually works so much so that you can instantly feel the difference between comfort and sport. Perhaps the only complaint is the steering which is electronic and somewhat dislocated from the front wheels.
