300 Drift - This is S2000!
Title goes with the theme of the video.
300 - This is Sparta!
This video captured my two attempts at drifting my s2000 through an on ramp. I challenged myself to see if I could drift a full on ramp.
Visualizing and trying it out little by little when ever I was on the ramp. Making sure that I am not over confident, I worked with mini drifts on the ramp here and there during the rainy days until I got a good feel for it. Practicing and seeing it in my head and playing the scene through my mind to build the muscle-memory in my arms so I get a feel for how I need to counter-steer when I'm really drifting for the whole corner.
Why I did it?
I've spend a lot of seat time in my s2000, and as a result I was confident that I would be all right and was willing to take responsibility for a damaged s2000 should I damage it from a mistake. I choose to do it where no cars would be near me while I'm sideways. So I choose to do this out of the sake of learning. I have confidence in my abilities to bail out when necessary and put the car safely to rest. There aren't many places to drift or that allow it, so I choose the on ramp, because I can't find places where I can get the same drifts around here. So the on ramp was a risk on my own part, but not to anyone around me because I made sure no one was around me. It's an on ramp, so there's not much going on besides driving through a one-way curve to merge.
The stage was set; this was my big leap to test myself. I'm still a student at drifting in real life, as I am still learning how to translate what I'm capable of in Gran Turismo drifting into real life drifting.
I have decided to mix this video accordingly to deliver my feeling in the video. Background music, quotes, and movie referenced quotes are used to deliver the same energy and vindication feeling I had during and after this recording.
I thank you for your comments and ratings.
Driven 3rd gear and it's in MPH.
