Embargo breaks are par for the course with big auto shows, and this year's Detroit Auto Show is no different. The 2013 Ford Fusion appears to be big target this time around, with this being our second early look at the Blue Oval's redesigned mid-size sedan. These two images from Czech website Auto Forum, while a bit pixelated, reveal much more than the shot that escaped Ford's clutches courtesy of a bug in the Fusion iPad app.
Here the influence of the Ford Evos concept that debuted last August at the Frankfurt Motor Show is plainly evident. From the hexagonal grille to the headlights, fog lamps and lower air inlet, all of the Evos' front fascia elements are there and arranged in a very similar fashion.

Ford's all-new Fusion brings alive the next generation of more expressive vehicles from Ford and is the first sedan to offer gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions.
The new Fusion is expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy across customers' choice of gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid sub-segments, following through with the commitment by Ford to be the fuel-efficiency leader -- or among the leaders -- with each new model brought to market.
Fusion brings the broadest selection of fuel-efficient powertrains in the midsize car segment. It offers hybrid and plug-in hybrid alternatives, a pair of EcoBoost™ four-cylinder engines, a normally aspirated four-cylinder engine, an automatic start stop system to shut off the engine at stationary idle, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive applications, and a choice between automatic and manually shifted six-speed transmissions.
The 1.6-liter EcoBoost is expected to deliver best-in-class four-cylinder non-hybrid fuel efficiency of 26 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine -- paired with a paddle-shifted six-speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission, available 19-inch wheels and tires, and all-wheel drive with the ability to send additional torque to the rear -- is the Fusion performance option.

The standard Fusion -- available in S, SE and Titanium trims -- will be available with three engines. The base mill is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four with 170 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque, mated solely to a six-speed automatic transmission. We're sure it's a fine powerplant, but our interest is more settled on the next two: a 1.6-liter EcoBoost four with 179 hp and 172 lb-ft, and the range-topping 2.0-liter EcoBoost four with 237 hp and 250 lb-ft. Both engines can be had with the same six-speed automatic, though the smaller 1.6-liter engine can be mated to a six-speed manual box. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board, but top-of-the-line Fusions with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine can be had with all-wheel drive.

2013 Ford Fusion and the Detroit Auto Show
Car lovers only have one place to be for the next few weeks: Motor City and the Detroit Auto Show.
The two-week show will unveil over 40 new models, giving car manufacturers a chance to lure over 750,000 participants with design, music, and bright lights.
Ford is looking to wow crowds with its brand new Fusion, which will come in plug-in and hybrid models and feature an alert system to let drivers know when they veer in to other lanes.
The Fusion outsold the Honda Accord in 2011, but Ford hopes its refreshed Fusion can beat sales of the top-selling mid-sized sedan, the Toyota Camry.
Whatever the consumer response, auto makers do have reason to celebrate: Gas prices have declined since summer and car-sale numbers are at their highest since 2008.
2013 Dodge Dart - First Look

Engines for the 2013 Dart include a base 2.0-liter four-cylinder, mid-level 1.4-liter turbo four with MultiAir technology, and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine for top of the line trim. Six-speed manual, auto or dual-clutch transmission will be available and a nine-speed will be available at a later date.
The 2013 Dart will debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, and arrive at your Dodge showroom later this year. Expect more info on the 2013 Dodge Dart to be announced soon.

Video showing information and high resolution images of the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion. It will be available in S, SE, and Titanium trims and will be full of technology. Myfordtouch infotainment system will be available as well as driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping system with drowsy driving detection, blind spot monitoring, hill start assist, and active park assist. There will be three powertrain options. A 2.5L inline-4 170 hp 170 tq with a 6 speed auto, a 1.6L ecoBoost 4 cylinder 179 hp 172 tq with a 6 speed auto or 6 speed manual, and a 2.0L ecoBoost 4 cylinder 237 hp 250 tq with a 6 speed auto. Front wheel drive is standard but the Fusions with the 2.0 ecoBoost can be had with all wheel drive. It's expected to have best in class fuel economy with the 1.6L ecoBoost expected to achieve 26 mpg city and 37 mpg highway while the 2.0L ecoBoost should net around 23 mpg city and 33 mpg highway. For more fuel economy Ford is offering a Fusion Hybrid and Fusion Energi. The Fusion Hybrid's total output is around 185hp and 130tq delivered through a cvt transmission and is expected to achieve 47mpg city and 44mpg highway, easily besting the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and getting close to Prius numbers. Ford says the Fusion Hybrid will be able to operate at up to 62mph without even having spin the engine. The Fusion Energi has the same core powerplant as the hybrid but with a plug-in hybrid system. It's expected to achieve up to 100 mpge (miles per gallon equivalent) which is 8 better than the Chevy Volt and 13 better than the expected efficiency of the Prius plug-in hybrid. We are very excited about the new car and love the redesign and all the options.

This Fusion is equipped with the 2.5L DOHC VVT 4 cyl which makes 175 HP while paired to a 6 speed auto.
Probably the most miles I've seen on a 2010 Fusion &it was in excellent overall shape. Just the bumper staid with bug damage which is really the fault of previous owners not washing off the bug kill off the bumper after using the car.
