1998-2002 Ford Expedition won't come out of PARK - Here's the problem! I have the Solution!
It is apparently a common problem with the 1998-2002 Ford Expeditions that
the front windshields may leak onto the interior fuse box. If you notice
that the windshield wipers are sporadic or doesn't work, The power windows
are sporadic or doesn't work, and the radio may or may not function when in
drive. (in my case the radio worked in park and neutral, but cut off in
drive or reverse). Then when you park the car, it may not come out of
PARK. If this occurs, check the 5 AMP fuse in the interior fuse box
located under the drivers side dashboard.
The fuse while only a 5 AMP fuse connects the windshield wiper relay, power
window relay, and is also connected to the transmission sensor which for
safety reasons will not come out of PARK.
Check this first, I can almost guarantee you that this is the problem.
This is a $1.49 fix that could save you hundreds on towing and possible
repairs trying to locate the problem at the dealership.
Hope this tip helps.
1978 Mercury Grand Marquis Video 1 Owner 6.6L 400 V8 Classic Youngtimer Lincoln Town Car Ford Sedan
78 Mercury Grand Marquis 312,000 Miles Near Mint 1 Owner 6.6L 400 Big Block
Classic Youngtimer http://www.1ownercarguy.com This is a very cool car.
Usually I like cars with really low miles but this car is sol cool because
it has 312,000 original miles on it and runs like a newer car. This is only
a 1 Owner Car and yes the miles are actual. The previous owner drove the
car back and fourth from Canada to California. You would never guess the
miles by looking at the car. The factory baby blue paint is in great shape
and has a very nice shine to it. The factory white vogue top looks great on
the car and is in about as good of shape as you will find. The body is
straight as can be and the paint is original. It has the 6.6L 400 engine
that fires right up and runs great. It has been rebuilt along with many
other things on the car. I talked to the mechanics that worked on the car
and they remembered the guy and how good he took care of his car and really
liked it. You would have to really like a car to put that many miles on it.
The car feels and handles like a newer car and just floats down the road.
The interior is in mint condition along with the rest of the car. Only the
drivers seat shows minimal wear. It looks like he was the only one that
made the trips because none of the other seats look like they hardly ever
got sat in. Everything about this car is just clean as can be. You won't
find another car like this.

Dodge Avenger stuck in park Quick Fix
My wife's 2008 Dodge Avenger would not go in drive or reverse. I see that
this is a common problem (Duh, its a Dodge), due to a cheap plastic shifter
The part cost $50.00 at my local dealer, and had the exact same defect -
CHEAP! So I opted for a quick, free fix. I will post on how long this fix
Thank you and I hope this helps you.
