800hp 66' Chevelle Dragster Startup
This car is being built for pro street drags at the Portland International Raceway. The only origional parts on this car is the rear 3/4 of the body and the front 3/4 of the chassis. motor is a 498 cu in Somers Racing motor built by Archie Summers in Vancouver Wa. Ford 9 inch, Art Morrison 4 link and Lemon Racing headers from Cali. The smoke that you see coming from the engine bay is the paint burning off of the headers.i have been helping my friend with this car for 2 year and its almost done. will post more videos when completed.

1966 Chevelle SS true 138 Vin. Body off restoration in 1992. Driven 4600 miles since. Freshly rebuilt 396 with less then 800 miles on it. M 21 Muncie 4 speed. original to car. Rear slant antenna and rear blacked out deck unique to only the Chevelles built in Atlanta. This Chevelle is absolutely gorgeous. It is a very straight solid ride as you can see by the photos. The only metal I can see that was replaced is the bottom of the passenger quarter. This car is straight with all good margins. The rear end and the transmission are original to the car. This car drives so straight and clean down the road it is awesome. Everything runs and works awesome on this car all the chrome is an awesome shape. 12 bolt posi this car has spent most its life down south. Interior is in awesome shape as well. 1966 Chevelle (3100 lbs.) at Bandimere Speedway on May 29, 2009. Ran 9.365 @ 144.41 MPH on motor, 7850 density altitude. Sorry video is long but don't know how to edit the first part out.
