1996 mitsubishi eclipse gs cold start problem
Here we have my girls 96 eclipse gs with the 420a motor. When its cold out it has a hard time starting and I have no idea why? I have tryed everything new timming belt and pullys. New IAC and IAT. New coil and wires. I was told it was the MAP but when its unpluged the car dyes so I sure thats working. The check engine light is no longer on after we put on all the new parts. When its warm out the car will start no problem or after it warms up it will start right back up everytime. I dont get it any more so plz help someone!
Palm Beach International Raceway C5 Zo6 Corvette, 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
Two of my friends who are both brothers at the track. Zo6 has Longtubes and a 75 dry shot on street tires. GSX is running an Forced Performance 3052 (GT3076R), DSM link, BC 272's, etc on 26lbs stock 7 bolt. GSX has ran a best f 11.72 @ 117 on a colder less humid day.
Sorry the video came out a little weird with the transitions and music. Windows movie maker is giving me problems. Probably from the spyware that made it onto my pc. Hopefully this will be the last time I use movie maker. I'll be doing my editing with Adobe Premiere Elements from now on as long as my slow ass pc has enough ram to run it.
Paint Delamination on 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse
The paint has been delaminating on my girlfriends 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse for quite some time. We submitted the problem to Mitsubishi as a manufacturers defect and asked them to repair it. We heard back from Mitsubishi today and they are denying warranty coverage.
The vehicle is out of warranty but problems this severe do not surface overnight. It is our contention that this flaw was created the day the vehicle was painted and it is just now becoming bad enough to surface, and spread relatively quickly.
Vehicle has roughly 70K miles, and is just turning 5 years old. It's not even paid off yet. This problem did not develop overnight, in fact, I'm sure it developed way before we even saw it happening, well within the terms of Mitsubishi's warranty.
We've seen several eclipses of the same age exhibiting the same problems. If you or a friend have an eclipse or other mitsubishi that is around the same age and it's doing the same thing, please post a video response and/or e-mail your pictures to the address at the end of the movie. Hopefully, with numbers, we can make Mitsubishi realize the gravity of this manufacturers defect.
If they won't cover this under the terms of their warranty then the value of making this problem known to potential buyers could mean just as much to us, as current owners.

This is one of those situations where someone has gone in replacing a bunch of parts trying to correct a starting problem only for me to find that it was the battery cables and terminals the entire time. Next time you run into a no crank no start situation and you have these cheap battery terminals or damaged battery cables it's probably a good idea to check there first before you start replacing batteries and starters, it might just save you some money.

starting problems
after doing a auto to manual swap the car started up fine the first few times and after that this is what i am getting so i replaced the starter, flywheel, ignition switch, start plate and i am officially at the end of my ideas to what it could be if you think you may know shoot me a message. Your typical tutorial on fuel pump removal and installation to be able to run 1 million PSI and beat everything that comes your way. :D This specific pump is the Walbro 255 HP LPH.
This applied to a 99 Eclipse GSX turbo but can be applied to any DSM as well as other cars like Toyota, Subaru WRX STi, Mitsubishi Evo, Chevrolet, Ford, VW, Nissan, etc.
