cold hard start of my 1995 powerstroke diesel "Bad glow plug relay"
Cold start of my 1995 f250 powerstroke with a bad glow plug relay I think. I will work fine sometimes. But sometimes it wont work at all. It will eventually start if you keep trying.
6.2 diesel hard start
68F outside temp. Vehicle sitting for 24 hours before startup. Idle is set to high by IP and will drop after a few minutes of idling.
Ford Powerstroke Faulty Injector Wiring Harness
A faulty injector wiring harness on the driver's side cylinders of the engine caused the engine to run the way it did in this video. I replaced both wiring harnesses in case the other one failed. I also replaced all eight glow plugs while I was at it. Runs perfectly now.
-31 Cold Start
A real cold start of my 6.9 IDI, non gated Banks equipped in this one, no glow plug controller either...
Temp as you can see is freakin cold... Truck is plugged in of course. This is a glow plug only start, with a single group 31 battery.
Very Hard Cold Start 7.3 Power Stroke
-12 Degrees Overnight. Tempature was Zero Degrees When I Made This Video At 9am. Truck Has Not Been Plugged In At All This Winter Yet.
Later Came To Find Out After Straight Piping The Exhuast I Was Down A Cylinder Cause I Had A Fried Injector Harness.

Ford IDI Diesel Starting problems Diagnosis
I'm not the best at talking on camera (it just feels weird lol) but I thought I would do a little vid to helpl anyone experiencing similar problems with their 6.9L or 7.3L IDI motors.
Air in fuel issues, and glow plug issues. I don't go into depth for the sake of time... If you want to know more just ask... or if I'm wrong on something let me know...
Glow Plug repair//How to remove stuck glow plug (s)
How to extract ,broken tip of glow plug ,use a tap (10-32) to score inside of old plug,then place washer under old plug ,a couple drops of loctight inside the old plug re-insert old plug over broken tip ,using a twisting motion, but donot engage threads,and once loctight (red) has setup ( 4hrs or over night) use screwdriver to pry up with a steady pressure(under washer) while rotating with a ratchet, tip should pull up take your time don't rush,if this helps ,Your Welcome,Jennings
