Military Vehicles [Japan]: Toyota Mega Cruiser (陸上自衛隊)
Toyota Mega Cruiser is a large, heavy-duty sport utility vehicle introduced by Toyota in 1995. It was the largest SUV ever built by Toyota and resembled the Hummer H1. It was designed primarily for military use, seeing duty as infantry transports equipped with mounted Howitzers and mobile Surface-to-Air missiles in the Japan Ground Self-Defense Forces/JGSDF (Japanese: 陸上自衛隊, Rōmaji: Rikujō Jieitai).
The vehicles are exclusively sold in Japan, mainly to the military, but was also used by prefectural police and fire/rescue departments; very limited numbers were also sold to civilians. It featured a 4.1 L turbodiesel engine, specifically built to produce high amounts of torque at low revs. The SUV featured front, center, and rear differentials, as well as four wheel steering.

Beetle crash in Korea
Beetle crashed to the standing 300C in the back.
Estimated crash speed was around 120km/h.
Beetle driver didn't seat belt fasten by mistake but not injured at all. She had 2 hours medical check in the hospital after the crash but hospital recommended no need to stay in the hospital because none of crash side effect has been found. She is still fine since the crash in June 2012.
The Beetle can be recognized after the crash and engine was dropped down so cabin was reserved perfectly.
This is the good sample showing extreme safety.
5 star crash test result is not able to prove real safety sometimes.

2011 Kia Optima NHTSA 35 mph Frontal Crash Test
2011 Kia Optima -- Another 5-Star Crash Tester
Kia's Sonata twin does good :)
The 2011 Kia Optima achieved a first for the marque five-star crash safety rating on the US DOT's NHTSA's most stringent crash testing regimen in existence. Not only did it earn an overall 5-star rating but scored in each individual test including the 35-mph fontal, side impact and rollover calculation 5-stars! The Optima was already a "Top Safety Pick" given by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) late last year.
Since the Hyundai Sonata is built here in the US and the Kia Optima in Korea, the Optima is the first Korean-built vehicle to be awarded a five-star crash safety rating under NHTSA's new, stricter 2011 crash test ratings. Maybe an asterisk needs to be added here but it not only scored perfect across the board on the NHTSA's tests but did so in the IIHS' as well. Few if any makes and models score this well proving that the Kia Optima/Hyundai Sonata twins (close anyway ;)) are two of the safest models on the road no matter which vehicle brand they are compared against.
The Optima includes six airbags (dual advanced front and front-seat mounted side as well as full-length side curtains), front active headrests, side-impact door beams, height-adjustable front seatbelts with pre-tensioners, three-point seatbelts for all seating positions, Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Four-wheel antilock brakes (ABS), ESC, a Traction Control System (TCS), a Brake Assist System (BAS) and Hill Assist Control (HAC) also are standard.

Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.

Test details:
The Hyundai Accent was redesigned for the 2012 model year.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. The driver side curtain and side torso airbags deployed during the crash. During rebound, the dummy's head contacted the side curtain airbag and the top of the A-pillar.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity. Head acceleration from the A-pillar hit was low.
