Fairlane gets the jump but the Challenger catches him and beats him by 1/4 of a fender. That was a close one! I'll get him next time.
427 Ford Cammer
This car 4 days before the video was taken was in a backyard in Arizona for 30 years. It was for sale on CRAIGSLIST!!!! and this guy bought it, fresh gas and showed up at the cruise in Scottsdale, AZ off of Indian Head Rd. 1961 Ford Starliner that someone had stuffed in a 427 cammer motor. Open headers, sounds even better in person.

On Halloween 2009, Phil Featherston shattered the long held (unverified) world record for the quarter mile Ford Thunderbolt in a flash of oil and grit. The time was 9.23 seconds at 151mph. Special thanks to Jake and Gerald. Video by Dave Featherston.
Rankin Ford's "The Wild Child" 427 SOHC Falcon
I saw this car at the 2010 East Coast Camaro Club's car show at DeSantis Chevy in Brockton, MA. I have no idea if it is the real deal, but it appears so, other than the missing original dash, different hood and induction, or the exact paint job. It is a Ford Falcon drag car with a rare 427 cu. in. SOHC FE engine, done by Rankin Ford in London, ON Canada. Current owner is from MA. Pump up the volume and enjoy.

1966 Ford Fairlane Hardtop 427
There's something about stacked headlights and a tag that reads "427". It's a quintessential 60's look that get's you. If you're going to mess with a 427FE or SOHC (in a straight line), your Nitrous bottle betta be full! This owner has had the car for about 30 years and the bond with it is clear. White must be a horrible color to maintain because I see him wiping it down a lot. I believe it's a 390 with twin 4bbls but you can't really tell the diff. A real nice car. Dig the dog dish hub caps.
