Crash test 1959 Chevy Bel Air collision with Chevy Malibu Car Crashes

Crash Test 2005 - 2010 Nissan Pathfinder (Frontal Offset) IIHS
Nissan Pathfinder
2005-08 models
FRONTAL OFFSET TEST
OVERALL EVALUATION: Good
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Good Good Good Acceptable Acceptable Good
Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:
The Nissan Pathfinder was redesigned for the 2005 model year.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. After the dummy moved forward into the airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the left tibia and both feet indicate that injuries to one lower leg and both feet would be possible. (Note: during the test, some injury data from the right leg was not obtained, but after the Institute reviewed comparable test data from Nissan, the right leg injury rating was not changed.)
Crash Test 2000 - 2006 Nissan Sentra ( Front Impact ) IIHS
Nissan Sentra
2000-06 models
FRONTAL OFFSET TEST
OVERALL EVALUATION: Acceptable
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Acceptable Acceptable Good Good Acceptable Good
Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:
The Nissan Sentra was redesigned for the 2000 model year.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the B-pillar.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the neck and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. A high head acceleration occured when the dummy's head hit the B-pillar, indicating that injuries to the head would be possible. Forces on the right knee indicate that injuries to the knee would be possible.
Crash Test 2004 - 2009 Volvo S40 (Frontal Offset) IIHS
Volvo S40
2004-09 models mfg. after Feb. 2004
FRONTAL OFFSET TEST
OVERALL EVALUATION: Good
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Good Good Good Good Good Good
Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:
The Volvo S40 was redesigned during the 2004 model year (the new design entered production in January 2004 and the earlier design, which is classified as a small car, remained in production into February 2004). Note: information about when a specific vehicle was manufactured is on the certification label typically affixed to the car on or near the driver door. To assure that the S40 is the new design, look for vehicles manufactured in March 2004 or later.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has evaluated the crashworthiness of the redesigned 2004 S40 in a 40 mph frontal offset crash test into a deformable barrier.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. After the dummy moved forward into the airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
