Old air field with very bad payment and some sand on it...
Both cars tyres are almost bold...Not very warm weather +10c and wind...
E55 has around 620 HP and M5 has Evotech ECU aroound 535+HP...
M5 is using Euro Launch Control and E55 has hooking up problems due to massive torgues and late reaction times at the start by - 0.6 sec...
M5 beat E55 by a hood but E55 has better 1/4 time 12.5 vs 13.1 and higher trap speed in that run...
SL55 AMG vs. BMW M5 (Run 5)
Same results as Runs 3 and 4. M5 gets out first. SL55 reels M5 in at about 100-110 and then stays ahead by 1 car length. Started from a roll at about 70mph. SL55 is modded. M5 is stock.

MKB has unveiled a new performance package for the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series.
Dubbed the P 1000, the package includes new air intakes, larger turbochargers, improved cooling systems, a revised ECU, and high performance camshafts. The company also modifies the automatic transmission and offers a variety of limited slip differentials.
Thanks to these modifications, the 6.0-liter V12 engine produces 1,000 bhp (746 kW / 1015 PS) and an electronically limited 1,300 Nm (959 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.9 seconds, and 0-300 km/h (186 mph) in 21.5 seconds. MKB hasn't determined the top speed, but estimates it will be approximately 370 km/h (230 mph).
Priced at €116,800 (including 19% VAT), the engine transformation takes up to three months to perform.

I Made MANY runs on several days.I wanted to reach a conclusion on which beast is the fastest !
and the conclusion i reached IS:
1) below 120mph(200km/h) :they are pretty much EVEN (who ever gets the lead first keeps it)
2)above 120mph(200km/h) :the M5 clearly has an advantage and ALWAYS starts pulling away slowly but constantly,especially after engaging 6th gear.Hp and gearing advantage in the M5 begin to show.
and by the way, i love BOTH cars so i'm not biased to any of them,that's why i made more than 20 runs on several days to eliminate any errors.

Here's a video of a fun little run MJ50 and I had at an airstrip (which wasn't prepped and was pretty damn dirty)... We really couldn't do more runs b/c of certain conditions, but this was just for shits and giggles.
The M5 had bald rear tires (that's why we were doing the run, it was supposed to get new tires a couple hours afterwards), you'll see during the movie, that it didn't get any traction from the start and it started to go sideways, so I had to let off a bit. Also, springs and sways were just installed on the M5 a few days prior and it desperately needs an alignment (which is already scheduled).
The E55 is heavily modded and the M5 is lightly modded, the result would have been a win for the E55 no matter what.
And yes, I do need a new video camera. Thanks for the camerawork, SoCalCLK!
