TerraTec Industries, Inc. has developed the highly innovative AggreScreedTM a bulldozer attachment used to lay gravel for roads, runways, parking lots, etc. without the use of stakes and does so in a single pass minimizing gravel segregation and breakage. Attachable to virtually any straight-blade bulldozer (125-250 horsepower recommended) the 16-foot AggreScreed blade adjusts to 24 feet in two-foot increments. Its capable of laying gravel at depths from zero to 15 inches and can create up to a three-and-a-half percent crown. Reducing the number of passes needed to reach the required depth means huge potential savings in labor, material and equipment costs. Im Nordosten von Australien befinden sich riesige Vorräte an Steinkohle. Abgebaut wird das Material in weitläufigen Tagebau-Betrieben. Hauptabbaugeräte sind Hydraulikbagger im XXL Format. Weltweit erstmalig wird hier im Abraum der Liebherr R 9800 mit 47,5 cbm Tieflöffel eingesetzt.
Das 800 Tonnen schwere Gerät belädt pausenlos eine nicht endende Flotte von Muldenkippern. Die geförderte Kohle wird mit riesigen Road Trains und per Eisenbahn zur Küste transportiert und von dort verschifft um den Energiehunger in aller Welt zu stillen. Bauforum24 war im Rahmen der Kalenderproduktion "Heavy Equipment 2011" vor Ort und hat den Giganten in Szene gesetzt.
