For 2012, the Soul gets an updated exterior including a new grille and taillights, as well as a new interior design. It also gets a pair of new engines under the hood that offer more power and better fuel economy, so you get the best of both worlds.
We are big fans of the Soul, which continues to be one of the best bargains on the road today. It comes with plenty of cargo space (19.3 cubic feet), a larger interior than its size would suggest, and plenty of features.

As a distinctive alternative to the likes of the Ford Fiesta, the Kia Soul offers lots of interior space and the beefed up looks of a 4x4, in a compact, easy to drive package. Aimed at younger drivers, there's an ever-changing raft of special editions, each 'themed' in a certain way with particular colours and trim options. Previous examples have included a flagship, luxury spec car, and a matt black model finished in bright red stickers. There are two 1.6-litre engines to choose from. One diesel, and one petrol.

Сегодня в моде яркость, индивидуальность. Kia Soul — прекрасный пример такого подхода. Если говорить о ценах на Соул, а для бюджетной машины, этот параметр весьма важен, то они таковы. Все начинается с 599 900 рублей за версию с бензиновым мотором и «ручкой» в комплектации Comfort. За Luxe придется доплатить примерно 60 тысяч. Разница — немного кожи в интерьере, климат-контроль и еще несколько мелочей. Машины с «автоматом» стоят уже от 660 000. Ну а дизельные версии «тянут» на 740 000 и 810 000 рублей в зависимости от комплектации. Они предлагаются только с автоматическими трансмиссиями.

2012 Kia Rio Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/kia/rio/2012 The 2012 Kia Rio is certainly an entry level subcompact car. But the Rio elevates this segment. The features are top of the line, the price is excellent, and the fuel economy is amazing. For the 2012 Model year the Kia Rio comes in 2 different body styles. The regular Kia Rio is a 4-door compact car and the Kia Rio 5 is a 5-door hatchback. The 2012 Kia Rio has a base price of $13,400. Past subcompact cars were ugly econoboxes that no one really wanted to drive. Well Kia has pushed the design envelope with the new Rio which features sharp headlights and an attractive front bumper which makes the car look more expansive then it is.
The GDi gamma 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine produces 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft. of torque. The Rio has great fuel economy with 30 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. There are tons of features and options that come standard on the Rio but the best part is Hyundai's 100k mile powertrain warranty. The 2012 Kia Rio is a great value at this price point.
