*SOLD* 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 "Big Blocks Rock"
Here is a golden opportunity to be wrapped up in a pretty and powerful Chevrolet, a 396 powered SS Camaro!
One of the smaller, yet studly big blocks is the L78, first offered in the Corvette in 1965. This was the first of the "rat" motors as the Chevy big blocks became known. In a Camaro, it is a tire spinning beast perfectly suited for performance oriented drivers.

This beautiful Fathom Green 1969 Camaro SS396 is a perfect example of the Camaro's multiple personalities—elegant, yet ferociously powerful.
With a gold base, Fathom Green has great depth, especially when it is created using modern 2-stage urethanes, which result in a finish that looks miles deep. Sometimes almost black, while in the sun it glitters like an emerald, this Camaro shows lots of evidence of careful body prep and quality workmanship. Panel alignment is good, with crisp details and good gaps all around. The steel hood carries the less common chrome-plated trim pieces for a look that a lot of people prefer to the cowl induction setup that most restorers choose.
Under the hood is an L78-spec 396 cubic inch big block that's rated at 375 horsepower. The block is Chevy Orange, of course, and the open element air cleaner has a correct chrome lid that tells you everything you need to know. An aftermarket distributor handles the spark, while a set of long-tube headers manage Exhaust. An aluminum radiator front keeps it cool, making this a big block you can drive any time without worries.
Adding to the fun is a Muncie 4-speed, feeding a 12-bolt rear full of 3.55 gears. A new Flowmaster Exhaust system has been installed for that trademark sound that ensures you won't be sneaking around in your new SS. Brakes have been rebuilt, and the suspension features new bushings and shocks all around. Rally wheels wear BFGoodrich T/A radials.
Inside, there are many components that are brand new, from the black bucket seat covers, to the carpet, to the door panels, which are all reproductions. The steering wheel is a gorgeous wooden piece, while the center console houses a set of functional auxiliary gauges, and a Hurst shifter topped with a cue ball knob. In back, the seats look original, and if that's the case, it tells you all you need to know about the care this Camaro has received.
Fully restored and ready to rumble today, imagine yourself at the next local cruise night in this Fathom Green SS. You'll instantly be part of a well-respected club, and you'll love driving this car from the moment you pull it out of the garage. Call now!

I found this Camaro in a garage of a guy I had been after for 2 years to sell it to me. He had a problem with drinking and parked it in 1984.
It was missing heads, but had roller rockers in it new. It had the drum brake parts removed, but had dics spindles and disc ready to install.
It sat in the garage pictured for 22years when I bought it. It had rust on ever surface from humidity, ( No rust holes; just surface rust ) It had Black widow spiders and it had dents; lots of them. Every inch of the car had something minor wrong. So I bought it and took it home and started the work.
I will be showing you progress of what i did, but I got this idea for the fix it site after most of the work was done. All I have to do now is finish painting on the SS stripes and Nassau Blue paint. I will be showing you how to do that in a future videos.
If you look at the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Xl Convertible 390 it will show you some dent removal done the correct way. Basically ever car dent is the same, even if it is a Chevy or a ford.

There's definitely a hierarchy among 1969 Camaros. At the top, of course, are the COPOs, including the mighty all-aluminum ZL-1, which is perhaps the most desirable muscle car of all time. But just below that is the almost-as-rare L89 SS396, which features aluminum heads atop an identically rated 375 horsepower L78 big block. Like the beautiful COPO tributes we've featured recently, this beautifully restored L89 tribute is so well detailed that it scored first place in the "Original Class" at the 2010 Motorama.
