Here it is coldstart of one known 6.2 diesel 1991 roadmaster wagon. -10c not plugged in, sun was up for maybe half hour.
Can't lay claim to the swap but I can lay claim to it's resurrection. Here is the write-up
The car was sitting for a year and I knew there were kinks to be ironed out, which for the most part have been done, it was the wrinkle that hurt teh ego and pocketbook the most.
Fresh batteries, cabling, starter, rotors, pads calipers, fresh 3' Exhaust, new to me caprice seats.
A new to me 700r4 after the estimated 250k mile trans pump failure before I even got the thing plated.
Up next is a fresh set of injectors and glow plugs, getting 28mpg on the highway now, hoping for 35-38 after the freshen up.
The Oldsmobile Diesel Junk Yard Experience.
Scavenging through the junk yard for Lincoln Town Car parts led me to a
1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that actually still had a 350 Diesel V8 under the
hood. Not having seen one in the junk yard for 10 years, and believing that
I knew who the car formerly belonged to, it was quite clear that the
experience of pulling an Oldsmobile Diesel engine from the junk yard may
never happen again. Plans for the following weekend were changed as I was
determined to pull the engine out rain or shine, with or with out help.
Some of the people in the yard had never heard of nor even seen one. With a
busy schedule and the yard being nearly Two hours away, it was a do or die
situation...The result was...well...just watch...
1980 Olds Diesel.wmv
Original advertising laserdisc info for the 1980 Oldsmobile Diesel engine,
audio is harsh, sorry, don't know if it was any better than this in the
showrooms though LOL
Drive Out Of Deep Snow 1980 Olds 6,2 Diesel
An old video from '94. The car is a 1980 Oldsmobile, originaly had a 5,7
Olds diesel, but my dad put a 6,2D from a chevy pickup in it, he also
fitted a rebuilt 700 tranny with OD and lockup and a LSD differensial, it
was an awesome car!!
cilindrada).
equivalente a diesel, consegue melhor performance.
My 1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon "GS" - Ed Siarkowicz Photographic Images, LLC
The car Buick should have built. First installment of the making of a hot
rod grocery getter. Bought the car early 2011 with 193k miles on it.
Replaced the transmission in early 2012 at 213k. As of January 2013 the car
has logged 240k and carries my photography equipment around as a daily
driver with the original engine. Exhaust cutouts and engine rebuild plans are
coming up later this year. Stay tuned. To view my photography portfolios

Driving in the Olds Diesel
Several people have asked to see more videos driving the Olds Diesel. This
is a cold start in the morning (it was about 40 last night, probably 50 in
the garage), followed by a cruise around the neighborhood. Turn down your
subwoofer - camera picked up some low rumbles that you don't hear while
Cold Start 1983 Diesel Chevy 6.2
Love them or hate them, this 1983 Chevy ¾ ton 4x4 was given to me not
running. The drive train has about 10,000 miles on it and the electrics
just quit. The owner took the electrics all apart and let it sit for 2
years. After putting it back together I found with the help of my neighbor
a fusible link After replacing it the truck runs quite well. Please
subscribe and rate.

CAT Diesel 3116: Cold, Smokey Start-up "The Beast"
*** Comments disabled ***
I know that cranking it that hard is bad, but it won't start in the cold if
I don't. I CANNOT USE ETHER or starting fluid in this engine because it is
equipped with an intake heater grid, though it is malfunctioning.
This 1992 GMC Topkick Tractor is not in regular service anymore, but is a
backup for another truck used for disaster response, so it must be
maintained. Part of that maintenance routine is starting it and driving it
on a 50 mile route once a month to keep everything lubricated properly and
the batteries charged and exercised..
Because the old Caterpillar 3116TA motor in it does not have Glow Plugs,
and the intake heater does not work properly, it is very hard to start in
cold weather. Today was some of the coldest we've had in a while, and the
coldest in which I've ever tried to start this truck, so I decided I'd make
a video of it.

1982 Cadillac Coupe DeVille DIESEL
Have you ever seen one of these in person? Not many are left today. This
car has been gone through for reliability, if you can consider that
possible for an Olds 350 diesel. This car (since its an '82) has the
improved DX block, over the D block that was produced first. The D block
and its fuel system were pretty horrid. The DX is a far better engine, but
either can be worked with to become much more reliable. I personally
believe the DX ha more potential. Is it a powerhouse? No way, but gets
respectable fuel economy for such a big car, and hasn't given me any
trouble so far.
I just love the expressions from people I see on the road and at the truck
stops where I fuel up.
Look for more videos of this car in the future!
First start of the new to me diesel roadmaster
Cold start of the roadie after a year of sitting, kinds and all. Think this
captures the first $200 of the project as I needed new batteries to get her
to her first start. Took more than batteries to get it starting like the
most recent one. Moved the batteries out of the trunk and back up front.
Need all the weight I can up there now that the springs out of a 442 are in
