2010 Bentley Continental Supersports
BENTLEY CONTINENTAL SUPERSPORTS
The Continental Supersports is the fastest, most powerful Bentley ever with 630PS (621 bhp) 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and a 204 mph (329 km/h) top speed.
The Supersports reaffirms Bentleys environmental commitment with the launch of its first FlexFuel performance car.
The Supersports combines the looks of the iconic GT with a distinctive style that reflects its supercar character.
The Supersports is the extreme Bentley delivering a highly focused driving experience a muscular two-seater that is 110 kg lighter than the Continental GT Speed.
The Continental Supersports is the fastest and most powerful Bentley ever. It is the extreme Bentley, a muscular two-seater that delivers supercar performance and a highly focused driving experience.
The Supersports is also the first Bentley capable of running on both petrol (gasoline) and biofuel, pioneering the use of FlexFuel technology in the luxury sector. This represents stage one of the companys commitment to make its complete model range compatible with renewable fuels by 2012.
Available worldwide from autumn 2009, the Continental Supersports will be FlexFuel compatible in the majority of markets from launch with North American cars offering the capability by summer 2010, following regulatory approval.
The Continental Supersports began as an under the radar project exploring the possibilities of weight reduction on the Continental GT but with more power and torque. A largely experimental process crystallised over a period of 24 months into an official new car programme, driven by the passion and enthusiasm of a small group of Bentley engineers and designers.
The results are dramatic. With 630PS (621 bhp) and new Quickshift transmission that halves shift times, the Supersports sets new performance benchmarks for Bentley. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) onto a top speed of 204 mph (329 km/h).
Supercar performance is complemented by an array of chassis enhancements including retuned steering and suspension, utilising lighter weight components, retuned dampers and anti-roll bars.
Agility is further sharpened by the 40:60 rear-biased torque split for the all-wheel drive system, a wider rear track, bespoke lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels and a unique electronic stability programme.
Carbon ceramic brakes are standard fitment, benefiting steering response, grip and ride comfort, while saving weight. Overall, the engineering team have achieved a weight reduction of 110 kg (243 lb) compared with the Continental GT Speed.
Agency Power Electronic Valve Controlled Exhaust Nissan R35 GT-R
www.agency-power.com - The brand new Agency Power Exhaust system for the Nissan R35 GT-R features electronic vacuum controlled bypass valves that allows the Exhaust gases to flow past the muffler. This bypass gives the GT-R an unrestricted Exhaust for unparalleled performance and sound. For every day driving, the bypass valves can be remotely switched via a wireless remote. With the valve closed, the Exhaust gases flow through the muffler for a mild Exhaust tone.
With the bypass valve on, the car picked up nearly 50whp on the Vivid Racing Dyno without any tuning or other modifications. With the bypass valve off and utilizing the muffler, the Agency Power Exhaust still had a modest gain of ~20whp.
This video is designed to show the cars Exhaust sound with both the bypass valves on and off.
Bentley Continental Supersports, Sport Exhaust by QuickSilver
Satans Whip! QuickSilver Demo-n Car.
QuickSilver wanted an appropriately elitist car to demonstrate it's range of Sport Exhaust systems for SuperCars and the 621 bhp Bentley Continental Supersports fits the brief perfectly. The 12 cylinder SuperSports model has increased power, massively reduced unsprung weight and a stripped-our carbon-fibre cabin (with Bugatti Veyron seats) - shedding 100's of kilos from the standard model.
With 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph providing (according to Road & Track magazine) performance that is identical to the new McLaren MP4-12C, this Bentley is certainly in the SuperCar premier league.
With reliabilty and superb comfort, plus supreme mid-range overtaking power (and a big fuel tank) nothing beats this fat-ass Bentley on long journeys!
Full-bore acceleration is truly shocking in both physical force (you absolutely have to warn your passenger if they not to whack their head) and sound - the QuickSilver Sport Exhaust amplifies and enhances the sensations with the instantaneous 'BUP' from the turbos on the upchange a particular feature.
The carbon-ceramic brakes look like they belong on a locomotive and provide magnetic stopping power to match the outrageous acceleration.
With appearances booked at various Goodwood events, the Le Mans 24 hours and (our favourite) the Wilton House SuperCar day, QuickSilver wanted a livery that was both discrete and attacted attention - mutually exclusive you might think?
The theme chosen to suit the car's entirely black colour (the only non-black is the 'Bs' in the badges) is a combination of two elements;
1) John Milton's Paradise Lost with quotes describing Satan's fall from heaven and his attempts to bring mankind with him. At Goodwood's SuperCar Sunday a large party of 'Goths' were great admirers.
2) The second theme is a demonic interpretation of the livery on the Bentley Speed 8 that won Le Mans in 2003.
The livery is applied using a new black reflective wrapping-vinyl. Under normal light the livery is almost invisible but under the right conditions and in direct line of vision the graphics appear in gold - which is both impressive and striking.
