Mercedes-Benz have applied automated driving to conduct safety tests. Their main objective was test their cars safety as if a human is driving it. Parameters like speed, angle and timing cannot be simulated and it is not really safe to risk a human driver during tests. Mercedes-Benz is the leading manufacturer with regards to technological developments of cars. It is known to assist in fast tracking the progress and execution of airbags, three point safety belts, ABS, ESP and other automotive developments. Thus, automated driving systems have been improved for test driving purposes. 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safety system. Mercedes-Benz has developed a new safety system called PRE-SAFE Brake that is featured on the 2010 E-Class. PRE-SAFE uses radar to gauge how close you are to traffic ahead, and if you are going too fast to safely avoid a collision, it engages the brakes, reducing the cars speed and likeliness of serious injury.
