Anthony's thunderbird turbocoupe
1987 Thunderbird turbocoupe...First time at the Dyno getting tunned. Car made 265hp and 245ftlb at the wheels with 22lbs of Boost. On the last Dyno run the turbo seized. Working on getting a 76mm turbo for it. Here's a list of mods:
FMIC
SDS system running the fuel and ignition
no distributor, has a crank sensor
t3/t4 hyprid turbo 70mm
moroso plug wires
3 in down pipe, splits into dual 2 1/2 with magnaflow mufflers
crane cam
72lb injectors
ported lower intake
custom upper intake with ford v10 throttle body
B&M short throw shifter
centerforce clutch
Otherwise the engine is stock with 200,000 miles on it lol
Why I love a V8
Torque is so much fun. To put this in perspective let me give you some horsepower numbers. At 3000rpm I am only making about 165whp. and at 4000rpm I am making about about 235whp. Not a big amount of horsepower. But at those same RPM's my V8 is making 290 tq and at 4000rpm I am making my peak tq of 310. So while my hp is down my car still accelerates fairly briskly. God I love a V8.
1986 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe
Just a quick drive in the Thunderbird.
1986, 2.3 turbo, 5 speed, 96k miles, all stock. The car has the obvious IVR problems as indicated by the gauge readings from start to finish. Otherwise, its a great car that recently gave me 28 mpg.
