This woody was painted in a wood grain pattern...you may or may not appreciate the effort. Wood graining is a definite skill. Most work is done on window frames and dashboards of cars from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Doing wood grain on the exterior is an ambitious project. It looks like the drivetrain was updated on this model.
1939 Chevy Master Deluxe Woody Station Wagon
Nice example...real wood here...and the "stovebolt 6" which would have been original to the car. Notice the gearshift lever...Chevy cars of this period had vacuum assisted shifting with short throws. You can see they were experimenting with making gear shifting easier!
1957 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe
Now this what appears to be pink and white hardtop has to totally embody the spirit of the late 50's! The fins are ever present, but haven't reached the ultimate as yet. This color is a legitimate body color at the time!
1940 International Truck & 1951 Chevy Sedan Delivery
This truck has really been renovated! Great color, Chevy V8 and automatic update the engine bay. On the bed of this hauler is a Chevy Sedan Delivery...once the mainstay of small businesses.
1960 Buick Invicta Custom Hardtop Maroon
The Invicta was slotted between the LeSabre and the luxurious Electra. Electra had a connection to the work of the ancient Greek tragedians Sophocles and Euripides...who says Detroit executives didn't read!! Invicta has the hint of invincibility...in fact, it's part of the fire ant's name! This may seem "puffery", but I believe it to be an attempt to elevate the Buick line to higher, classical levels. Behind every successful car of the time, there was an elaborate advertising campaign.

2014 Mercedes S-Class - assistance systems animation
Mercedes has officially unveiled the 2014 S-Class at the Airbus A380 delivery center in Hamburg, Germany.
Designed to become one of the most luxurious and advanced vehicles ever constructed, the 2014 S-Class has an evolutionary design that incorporates a sportier front fascia, a larger grille and a gentle slanting rear end. The sleek styling enables the model to have drag coefficient of 0.24 which is pretty impressive considering the pint-sized CLA has a drag coefficient of 0.23.
1957 CHEVY 210 HANDYMAN STATION WAGON
1957 CHEVIES ARE AN ICONIC SYMBOL OF AMERICAN FIFTIES CARS. TWO DOOR BELAIRS, NOMAD WAGONS, CONVERTIBLES, AND SPORT HARDTOP SEDANS TOP THE LIST OF FAVORITE FIFTY SEVENS. HARDLY ANYONE THINKS ABOUT THE HANDYMAN STATION WAGONS. HANDYMAN WAGONS WERE FOUND IN THE 150 AND 210 SERIES ONLY. THE UPGRADE WAGON MODELS WERE CALLED THE TOWNSMAN AND CAME ONLY AS A FOUR DOOR. CHEVY OFFERED 6 ENGINES FOR '57: L-HEAD 6, 235 CID, 265 CID V8, AND FOUR 283 CID V8, WITH 185, 220, 250, 283 BHP.
THE WAGON SHOWN HERE IS A SERIES 210, SECOND FROM THE BOTTOM RUNG OF CHEVY MODELS. IT COST $2,402 AND WEIGHS 3,406 LBS. ALL CHEVY MODELS HAD 115 INCH WHEELBASES. THIS EXAMPLE HAS THE STOVEBOLT SIX ENGINE. BLACK AND WHITE PAINT MATCHES THE BLACK AND WHITE INTERIOR. NOTICE THE RADIO BLANK ON THE DASH SO THERE IS NO RADIO INCLUDED. EVEN THOUGH 17,528 HANDYMAN WAGONS WERE BUILT NOT TOO MANY OF THESE ARE AROUND MUCH LESS COLLECTIBLE AND RESTORED. SO, THIS WAGON IS TRULY A RARE VEHICLE. Another rare car brought to you by 55lincoln. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR VIEWING.
making a woody part one
Now that the body work is all done, the paint has been applied and colour sanded. It is now time to apply the wood grain panels.
