General Lee Destroyed by Fire - Fifteen Years of Fun
Visit www.mygenerallee.com for updates....
My wife is the major contributor to this inspirational video to rebuild the
General Lee. The fire started inside the house from a sump pump
malfunction. The pump kicked on when there was no water in the sump pump
hole and ran so long that it caught on fire. The fire then traveled up the
ejection pipe and caught the staircase that the pump was under on fire,
then spread into the hallway, living room, and garage. What the fire
didn't destroy, the intense heat and smoke did, including the entire second
level of the house. We were out of town when it started.

The General Lee - Behind the Build of "Lee 1"
This is an impromptu interview that we did with Jim Shine, one of the
people that coordinated the restoration of "Lee 1," the very first Dukes of
Hazzard General Lee car. The video was shot at the 2012 Scottsdale
Barrett-Jackson auction 1 day before the car was sold.
Jim described every detail of the restoration, from the crushed frame rails
the the use of cheap Acme orange paint over the original copper. He also
revealed why every General Lee has vinyl roof trim (but no vinyl roof) and
how THIS General set the template for every General ever made.
The video is hosted by me, Robert Kibbe of The MuscleCar Place Podcast.

Resurrecting a Classic Chevy
This is my 1968 Chevy Caprice. It was the very first car I ever worked on
as a Student of Auto Body way back 20 years ago. Since then the car has
lapsed into obscurity after the transmission went all kerflooey and sat
under a cedar tree for 16 years. The needles destroyed the paint, the vinyl
top was not replaced when the car was originally fixed, and the interior
was ruined when the top gave way. The car had about $3,000 put into the
engine (a 327 ci 275 hp engine that is original to the car) and the car
overall has about 87,000 original miles. As I stated, the car has sat for
the last 16 years and we dragged it to its current location, put a battery
in it, and after some tinkering, it started right up. It has a whole tank
of $.99 gas in it and it runs smoothly. The peck you hear in the video is
an Exhaust leak. If you have any
questions, drop me an e-mail.
