Rotary Power - Mazda RX-8
The first version of the RX-8, the SE3P, produced from model years 2003 to 2008, is powered by the "RENESIS" 13B-MSP (multi side port) Wankel rotary engine displacing 1.3 litres (twin 654 cc rotors) which, when coupled with a six-speed manual transmission, will typically produce 237 hp (177 kW) at 8,200 rpm and 211 Nm (ECE) of torque at 5,500 rpm.[1] The multi side port engine improves on fuel efficiency and emissions over the RX-7's engine
The RX-8 is available in various models in different markets around the world. Standard models include:
6-speed manual "High Power" with an output of between 170 kW (231 hp) and 184 kW (247 hp) (250 PS) and a 9,000 rpm redline.
5-speed manual "Standard Power" tuned to 141 kW (192 hp) with the redline reduced to 7,500 rpm.
4-speed automatic tuned to 141 kW (189 hp) in some markets, while the U.S. automatic is stated to deliver 197 SAE net hp (158 kW).
6-speed automatic (available in the U.S. market as of 2006) developing 212 hp (158 kW) and 159 lb·ft (216 N·m) of torque with a redline at 7,500 rpm.[2]

Chasing an Audi R8 around Viriginia International Raceway during the MazdaDrivers event on June 14, 2009. Able to catch him a bit in the twisties, but just can't keep up with the power. Mistake letting the BMW by, as they hesitated to pass and cost me all my momentum. Stinkin' Bimmers always ruin my fun. ;-)
My car is an otherwise stock 2005 RX-8 with Koni shocks, BFG R1 tires, Hawk HP+ front pads, and B&B muffler. Camera is a Creative Labs Vado HD.

Szevasztok Magyarok! STOCK manual 231 hp RX-8 0-153 kph (96 mph) on 1/4 mile in 14.48 sec!!!(a Ferrari 360 Spyder, 400 hp does 1/4 mile in 12.73 sec).. / 0-100 kph (62 mph) in 6.72 sec. (Factory: 6.4 sec.) / 0-128 kph (80 mph) in 10.13 sec. / 0-144 kph (90 mph) in 12.43 sec. / 0-150 kph (93.7 mph) in 13.94 sec. / 0-160 kph (100 mph) in 16.05 sec. / 0-176 kph (110 mph) in 19.92 sec. / 0-192 kph (120 mph) in 24.06 sec. / 0-200 kph (124 mph) in 27.23 sec (on less than 2/3 mile) and 0-209 kph (near 131 mph) in 32.93 sec (on other vid from me 32.1 sec. and 0-220 kph in 39.4 sec.)
