Buick - History Documentary (1995)
This video is a wonderfully-done documentary on the history of Buick as presented in 1995 from the History Channel's archive. Here is their description of the video verbatim:
"No one would have believed that the tinkering of a plumber would turn into the foundation of the world's largest corporation. But it did. David Dunbar Buick invented a process to adhere porcelain to tubs and other bathroom fixtures. But the Scottish immigrant dreamed of making a mark out of the bathroom, and set to work building a car. By 1900, he enlisted the aid of another inventor, Walter Marr, and they built their first vehicle. Their invention attracted the attention of one of Michigan's wealthiest men, William Crapo Durant, the president of the world's largest buggy-building business. As soon as he drove one of Buick's early creations, Durant realized that the days of the horse and buggy were over. He teamed up with Buick, and the two went on to make history. By the thirties, Buicks were regarded as some of the finest cars ever made. From the first Buicks through the birth of General Motors and into history, this is the compelling story of the partnership that eventually became the basis for the largest company in the world."

Invention of the Automobile documentary clip
This is a clip from a documentary that aired in the late 1990's and may prove helpful to people who don't really understand where the car originated from. The documentary leaves out some key milestones, like the first 3-wheeled Diamler of the late 1800's, but is accurate overall. There's also a section on horse and carriage traffic and the start of the used car business.
I do not claim any ownership over the copyrights to this video. It was recorded off the TV around 1995 and I have not seen it anywhere since, so I thought I would share it with the world. This video has not been monetized and therefore I am not earning revenue from it.

Legend of Buick - Part 1 (1998)
Here's a great video produced in 1998 by General Motors Communications Support Group for Buick Communications. Written and directed by author/biographer Lawrence R. Gustin (one of the very few writers active today who extensively interviewed people close to the founder of General Motors, William Durant, and who also has a very rich background in researching and presenting Buick history), this video presents a detailed walk through the history of Buick from its early roots with David Dunbar Buick, all the way through to the late 90s. Narrated by Bill Harris, you'll enjoy a wide collection of Buick memorabilia including photos, newspaper articles, and film clips. (Video is presented in two parts.)
1919 Buick First start since 1952
This is the first startup of this 1919 buick six roadster that had been sitting in a barn in ohio since 1952. It was parked there with a bad differential. My boss bought it on Ebay and i gently disassembled the engine, cleaned out the 50+ year old oil, freed up the piston rings and put it back together. I had to substitute a newer coil to get a strong spark and had manually filled the float bowl of the carburetor. No fuel pump was hooked up or water in the engine hence the short run time. This is a very cool early overhead valve engine with an aluminum crankcase, cast iron cylinder block, roller tappets, exposed valvetrain, zero gap piston rings, and electric start. This car had about 14,000 miles on the odometer. Enjoy the video! Check out my other video/slide show for engine disassembly pictures.
