DIY Auto: Intermittant A/C. Compressor clutch diagnosis on a 1990 Jeep Cherokee.
This apparently is a common problem with these A/C compressors. Symptoms are A/C works when things are cold. When things warm up, the clutch fails to engage. I've had this jeep for most of its life and this has always been a problem. In the early stages, turning the engine off/on would get it to work. Then moving the dash control to vent and back would get things going. Now, a mallet to the compressor housing engages the clutch but only briefly. Not a solution but proof of where the problem lies.
I by no means am a professional mechanic but I thought by making this video it would assist other non-professionals help diagnose their intermittent A/C cooling problem.
AC compressor clutch pulley repair, part 2
This is part 2 of an amateur demonstration of how I replaced the Sanden AC clutch pulley bearing on my 1998 Dodge Ram 4X4. Be sure to see both the part I video and the video description on that page for useful additional details.
Part 1 is here http://youtu.be/R6RGgFTpzWY
This video is strictly amateur and published for entertainment purposes only. It is not a qualified instructional effort and the information contained here is not guaranteed to be accurate or complete. Work on AC systems involves special risks, including the risk of violating international law if freon is released into the atmosphere without reclaiming it. Do not try this at home. Any misadventure you encounter if you attempt to repair your vehicle is your responsibility.

Denso 10PA Series Compressor Reseal Part 2
*NOTE: TIGHTEN BOLT TO 23 FOOT POUNDS NOT INCH POUNDS*
This is the second half of the Denso 10PA Series Compressor Reseal video. You can order seal kits and supplies from www.centuryautoair.com. In the video I slide the seal over the protector tool to pre expand it. Notice that I run the seal over the tool backwards. This lessens the chance of cutting. The seal side of the seal faces the inside of the compressor. Pay close attention when disassembling your comp to aid in reassembly. It can be confusing if you dont.

A C Switches
A/C pressure switches are pretty straight forward. They are both, electrical switches and pressure transducers. Their purpose as electrical switches are to interrupt the circuit. There are many, many different arrangements that these switches can be configured in an electrical system. So, always be sure to review the diagram for the system you are working on.

AC System Basics - EricTheCarGuy
This is a kind of video response to a question I got from RadicalComedy about servicing her AC system. Keep in mind that this is a very basic overview of the components and operation of the AC system. In future installments I plan to get more in depth about the operation and function of these parts but for now I think 6 minutes of your time is enough.
