This may seem like a tiny amount of power but remember the Fiat 500 only weighs 2363 lbs which is almost 400 pounds less than a Mini Cooper. http://www.autobytel.com/fiat/500/2012/abarth/ The 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth comes packing a turbocharged motor that delivers a heaping amount of torque at low RPM's which allows the driver to get off the line quick. The suspension is stiffer and the exterior is more aggressive. The Fiat 500 Abarth is a sub-compact car that is a total blast to drive. The MSRP on a 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth is $22,000. Back in the 1950's Carlo Abarth used Fiat vehicles as race cars. These little automobiles were very successful racers and Carlo Abarth ventured out making high performance parts for Fiat vehicles. Fiat then bought out Abarth in 1971 and designated that name for their racing department. Fast forward to 2012 and we have a potent little rocket in the Fiat 500 Abarth. Differentiating the Abarth from a more mundane Fiat 500 is easy. The Abarth model will carry with it the signature scorpion badges that Abarth is known for. Other styling ques include an Abarth sport stripe, performance front bumper, twin Exhaust, 2-piece rear fascia, rear spoiler, and 17-inch rims. On the inside the 2012 Fiat Abarth treats the driver to high performance sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum pedals, Boost gauge, Bose sound system, and more. It's the performance aspect that sets the 2012 Fiat Abarth apart from the rest of the pack. Then engine is a turbocharged 16-valve 1.4 liter 4-cylinder that makes 160 horsepower and 170 lb-ft. of torque. The power control module makes sure the Abarth is operating at peak performance while in Sport mode. The car still manages to get 28 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway too! The wheels are wrapped in sticky Pirelli P Zero tires for additional stick. Suspension wise the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth features stiffer springs and KONI shocks for added handling performance. The steering is quicker and more responsive thanks to a tuned system calibrated around the electric power steering unit. The brakes are larger rotors to take care of any spirited driving needs. The 2012 Fiat Abarth is full of personality and it drives around like an angry little car looking for a fight. This is great for the driver that wants a fun and sporty sub-compact car. The turbocharged engine provides plenty of motivation while the suspension is capable of handling the twisties. There are 2 engine choices available: the 4.2 liter V-8 engine and the 5.2 liter V-10 engine. Base price for the 4.2 liter coupe is a reasonable $114,200 with the 5.2 liter Spyder tested here costing $162,700. And just so you know there is a $3000 gas guzzler tax on this vehicle. Choosing the car of the year list is hard work. When looking at the best convertible for 2012 the Audi R8 V10 Spyder; this car defines what a convertible should be. The R8 Spyder is definitely one of the sexiest cars ever created. There is no mistaking the rear of the Audi R8. You can see this car coming from a mile away. The only drawback with owning the Spyder vs. the coupe is that with the coupe model you get a cool engine cover that is clear. But with the Spyder, there needs to be a place to hide the folding top; thus the engine is hidden. Like most convertibles the Audi R8 Spyder is challenged for cargo space. You would be lucky to get 2 grocery bags into the front storage area. The 2012 Audi R8 V10 Spyder is powered by a 5.2 liter V-10 engine that produces 525 horsepower and 391 lb-ft. of torque. The car rockets from 0-60 MPH in 4.0 seconds. In case you are wonder the Audi R8 V10 gets 13 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the highway.  Audi has always offered many advanced packages with their vehicles and the R8 has plenty of addition options you can purchase. For $9900 you can upgrade the brakes to a Ceramic Carbon set of high performance rotors and calipers. Or for about $8100 you can opt for the Carbon Fiber Sigma Exterior Package which adds a carbon fiber front spoiler and rear diffuser. On the inside the options include a carbon fiber dress-up kit. For $750 the R8 Spyder can be equipped with a set of cool white gauges. The 2012 Audi R8 is available with paddle shifters but the real driver's choice should be the gated 6-speed manual transmission. The Audi R8 Spyder is one of the best looking cars on the road. 2012 Scion iQ Test Drive & Car Review

Previously the Smart car was the only micro car available in America but now the iQ and even the Fiat 500 are now available for purchase. In fact the Scion iQ has the best combined fuel economy from any gas only powered car on the road today at 36 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway. This car was designed to be the ideal city car the fuel economy in the city really enforces that point. The 2012 Scion iQ costs $15,265 which is a few thousand above the Smart car but for the extra money you get so much more in return. The iQ comes standard with power windows and doors, a booming Pioneer Radio and CD player, Bluetooth, HD radio, air conditioning, and more. The steering wheel that is not only wrapped in leather but has radio controls integrated into it. Heck the 2012 Scion iQ even comes with 16 inch rims. The engine on the 2012 Scion iQ is a 1.3 liter 4-cylinder motor that makes 94 horsepower and 89 lb-ft. of torque. While this may not seem like very much power its important to note that the low curb weight (2127 lbs) makes for a peppy little car. The power is transferred to the front wheels through a CVT transmission which aids in the fuel economy department.
