2012 volkswagen Routan Review SE
This video is a review of the 2012 Volkswagen Routan. The video explains many of the features of the van. A few of our notes
- Plenty of pep - not bad acceleration for a minivan
- We get about 20MPG
- The middle -row does not stow - the space is used strictly for storage.
- A decent ride not great - a big springy
- The video system works great
- We love the Garmin GPS it really does work great.
- The breaks are considerably better than Sienna
- Plenty of cup holders.
While there are a few annoying features our family really does enjoy our Routan.

The Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country were redesigned for the 2008 model year.
Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the roof rail and B-pillar.
Injury measures — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity. Head acceleration from the roof rail/B-pillar hit was low.

Volkswagen Unveils the New Routan at the Chicago Auto Show

Volkswagen unveiled its new minivan, the Routan, at the Chicago Auto Show, running Feb. 6-17, just weeks after the premiere of the new Passat CC at the NAIAS 2008. The Routan is a seven-seater that is more than five meters in length. The vehicle comes standard with a 3.8L V6, offering 197 hp and 230 lb. ft. of torque, when combined with the standard six-speed automatic transmission. A 4.0L V6 will be available, rated at 253 hp and 263 lb. ft. of torque. The minivan will be produced in the Volkswagen facility in Windsor, Ontario. The automaker is hoping to increase its volume in North America with models like the Passat CC and the new Routan, both of which are tailored to the U.S. market's requirements.
VW Routan Problem: Roof Leak
This is our VW Routan bought in June 2009. It has a leak and water is coming in. I am very hopeful VW will help us with this issue. At the time of this post, our VW dealership in Charlotte, NC is saying we've left the sun roof cracked and indeed we did not. Water is coming in from somewhere.
