Abes Lincoln - 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC 32 Valve DOHC 4.6 V8 Hot Rod Luxury
In honor of President Lincoln's birthday, February 12th, I thought I'd post this video of his namesake, the Lincoln Mark VIII. When Henry Leland started Lincoln Motor Company in 1917, he named it after our famous President. This Lincoln has the monochromatic trim all the way around, an elegant leather interior, and a 32 Valve DOHC 4.6 V8 under the hood. These cars really do offer luxury and performance in one complete package. Perhaps it would be the choice of our beloved President, if he were still alive today. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for watching!

Vintage Willys Jeep CJ3B Military Vehicle
I thought you would like a look at this Willys Jeep CJ3B that has all the correct Military markings. It's an older restoration, but it's looking as though it just came out of service. The four wheel drive system was gone through and upgraded in 1995 and it has bee well taken care of since. It still has the original inline four cylinder under the hood backed by a manual transmission. It really looks like a fun little vehicle for the money. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for watching!

1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC
This has a Intech 4.6L 32 Valve DOHC V8 making 290 HP while paired to a 4 Speed Auto. It's essentially a Cobra V8 & also the same engine from my 2002 Continental only in my car it's detuned & in FWD.
This model began in 1993 until the Final year made in 1998. The Mark is known to be the first Production Vehicle to offer HID ( High Intensity Discharge ) Headlamps.
The Marks biggest issue was with the 4 wheel Air Ride suspension which was prone to early failure & it is a costly repair. Many owners resorted to Coil Spring conversion but it really killed the Marks Smooth ride.
Lincoln Mark VIII Test Drive
I should have tightened the camera to the tripod better as its rattling and very annoying. Somewhere from the camera, editing to youtube the 1080p widescreen was ruined so ill redo asap.
This is a 93 lincoln mark 8 with 4.6 dohc, stock Exhaust. I opened up the intake tube and mcguivered a cold air intake. It still has snow tires on so there a little noisy, they are 215 60r16s so first gear only goes to 95kph; with 225's it goes to 102kmh. All of the accelerations are a roll into the full acceleration, i dont want to wear the winters too much.
I did the hid conversion as you can see in the first 15 seconds of the movie, they are morimoto mini h1's. I had to make a thermoforming machine to create the clear lenses as the originals were fluted.
It has coil over suspension instead of the air ride, no big difference really. Im going to redo the suspension in summer so im not being careful in the backroads. It currently has 215000km on the body but only 50,000km on engine and transmission.

1998 Lincoln Mark VIII Saleen Rims
My 1998 Lincloln Mark VIII in Midnight Grey with Black interior some minor upgrades like 2.5" mandrel bent Exhaust from catback, 3rd cat and the resonator were removed and x-pipe was installed instead, Converted to true dual Exhaust like the LSC models, got rid of factory mufflers and swapped them out for stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers but factory tips were still kept. Also put some chrome 18x9" Saleen Speedstar rims of course for the mark VIII lug pattern, brake calipers were painted metallic deep red, factory air suspension was taken out and lowering springs were installed.
Lincoln Mark VIII Movie.avi
This is a short movie about my two Lincoln Mark VIII's. The red one is a 1996 base model and the white one is a 1997 LSC. The '96 is mine and the '97 is my wife's. They're both awesome. There's nothing like having "His n' Hers" Lincoln Mark VIII's. These are wonderful cars. They're sleek, beautiful, fast, luxurious, and just plain awesome. The Lincoln Mark VIII was introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the outgoing Lincoln Mark VII. The VIII was a vast improvement over the VII that it replaced. The ancient 225hp 5.0L pushrod V-8 was replaced with a modern all aluminum DOHC 4.6L V-8 producing 280hp. Late in '95, the LSC returned with true dual Exhaust and 290hp from the 4.6L V-8. The VIII also replaced the VII's McPherson strut front suspension with a proper upper and lower control arm design with integrated air spring/shock absorber units. The old 4-link live axle out back was also upgraded to a fully independent setup with upper lateral links, lower H-arms, air springs and shocks. The 4-wheel disc brake system was also upgraded with larger rotors and better electronics. The VIII was also a much larger car than the VII giving it more interior and trunk space than the outgoing car. About the only caryover was the transmission. The VIII's tranny was essentially the same as the one used in the VII. Other than that, the VIII was a completely new car from the ground up.

I had the pleasure of running against RobertP from TCCOA the first time he ran in the 10's. He stomped me good but most of the sound you hear is my Lincoln. Thanks to Trunk Monkey.
