First batch of biodiesel from virgin veg oil

First batch in the new biodiesel processor. Leftover virgin vegetable oil (not waste fryer oil) for the first trial batch. Straight forward recipe, about 21% methanol (methyl hydrate) and 7.5 grams of KOH per liter. Glycerol separation will be shown in the next video. How to Make BioDiesel #6 The Wash
If all went well in the last step it is time to wash your biodiesel now. To do this you are going to need some hot tap water. Just remember SLOW and GENTLE GENTLE GENTLE you DON'T what to mix the water with the oil just wash it SLOW and GENTLE

Making Biodiesel at Home
A walkthrough of the steps for making biodiesel at home, and driving your car for 65-75 cents/gallon. June 2008 update from the guy who makes this in the video - "methanol is $3.95 a gallon now, pushing my per gallon price to around $1 +/- .05 depending on yield and lye."

Jerry Rig II Biodiesel Processor
Finally completed my latest biodiesel processor, Jerry Rig II. This similar to my first processor but it's a 55 gallon steel drum, which will allow me to produce 35 gallons of finished biodiesel. I will be making 30 gallon batches (25 gallons finished) due to my pump not be sufficiently strong enough to mix larger quantities.

EZ WVO filter. Simple, cost effective, no mess, no fuss!
http://KissWvo.com The KissWvo filter is true simplicity, it has no moving parts. It is the only BioFuel filter made of a Stainless Steel filter element that can be cleaned repeatedly in 30 seconds. It is not dependent on power, is devoid of pumps, plumbing, gauges, and hoses. The filter is instantly accessible for cleaning, and there is nothing to throw away-ever! It is portable, sets up anywhere, and stores in a closet. The filter is made of rust-proof materials, is nearly indestructible, and is dishwasher safe. Hope you enjoy this video!

Biodiesel Power
Throwing a couple cans of my first batch of biodiesel into the truck. It's about a B50 mixture (50% petrodiesel/50% biodiesel) for the test run. No difference in power.

Filtering Fryer Oil
Just a simple vid of my simple cheap fuel filter. The car has a filter to its required specs, this just takes the french fry bits out, that can cause problems with the tank pick up tube and stuff. Even still, be prepared for road side filter changes if you haven't gone through the tedious task of pushing this stuff through a 10 micron filter. This vegtable oil was progressively mixed with less and less diesel fuel. I now run it at 80% fryer oil and 20% diesel oil. The car puts up a bit of protest starting, but less than it did starting in the winter. That gets me 160 mpg on the diesel fuel I have to pay for. Soon I will have the biodiesel reactor dialed back up, and I can run B20, 20% biodiesel, 80% fryer oil, and never stop at a gas station again.

1998 Jetta TDI biodiesel
A VW Jetta TDI with a grease car conversion. Two fuel tanks. The Engine coolant lines take a detour and run though the biodiesel tank to warm the fuel up on cold days. David says when the engine temperature gauge moves out of the "cold" rage, he switches to the grease.
