Driving around the countryside in a Mercedes S350 BlueTec in shitty, rainy weather, occasionally getting sporty. When the red light is on in the dashboard, it means the Airmatic is set to sport mode. Otherwise it's comfort mode. Sport mode makes the car go better through corners thanks to the "active body control" (ABC). I deliberately selected bad roads for this section to demonstrate the calmness of the S-Class. You can see that the camera almost never shakes.

Driving fast on the Autobahn in a Mercedes S-Class (2)
Taking a fast drive on the Autobahns in my region with a Mercedes S350 BlueTec. The car has a 3-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with 258 hp and goes up to 250 km/h, where it is electronically limited. Top speed is not reached in this video, though. The final minutes, however, are in a speed-limited zone, where I use the radar-guided cruise control "Distronic Plus". What you see there, is the car driving alone, with me no interferring. I'm only adjusting the pre-set speed with the lever left to the steering wheel. My feet are inactive.

Both truck and a Mercedes go for the middle lane. No one thinks the other is doing the same. Suddenly truck crashes into the Benz making it drag in front of of the truck.
Driver of the Mercedes is the luckiest driver in Australia. No doubt satisfied with his choice of car.

The S-Class Conclusion
This clip concludes my driving in the S-Class. I met a Jaaaaaguar XK on my way home and overtook him at the first opportunity. I suppose he must have see the "Diesel" on my filler cap, because he followed me but wasn't able to get past me again. In the end I added the trip statistics.
P.S.: In case somebody is wondering, the second song is a special musical greeting to the American viewers ;-)
2014 Mercedes S-Class - assistance systems animation
Mercedes has officially unveiled the 2014 S-Class at the Airbus A380 delivery center in Hamburg, Germany.
Designed to become one of the most luxurious and advanced vehicles ever constructed, the 2014 S-Class has an evolutionary design that incorporates a sportier front fascia, a larger grille and a gentle slanting rear end. The sleek styling enables the model to have drag coefficient of 0.24 which is pretty impressive considering the pint-sized CLA has a drag coefficient of 0.23.

The Mercedes S-Class is a brilliant luxury car built from the finest materials to exacting standards. Big on style and performance, this is one of the world's truly great cars.
Luxury doesn't come cheap: the asking price, leasing rates and company car tax bills are all high.
