La Bala - Scratch Built Sportscar - Kit Car for You!
La Bala, my scratch built kit car is almost finished. This video is a walkaround that shows the new wheels, new rollbar and windshield finally in place. Still missing are the headlamp buckets and covers and the mirrors. This car will be available as a kit for anyone that wants to build their own La Bala, or as a completed car for people that just want to pay and drive. La Bala is very lightweight at only 1,400Lbs and very fast with just a 4 cylinder engine. Since it is so efficient it gets great gas mileage too! The light weight design means it accelerates quickly, stops and turns like a go-kart but has full size safety features and can be driven on the street. The car in the video uses a Toyota engine, but the car can use almost any small displacement production engine from any manufacturer. Toyota, DSM, Honda, Nissan, GM Ecotec, Ford Engines, they all fit!
VW Go Kart
This is a go-Kart modeled after a 1962 VW camper. The fiberglass Kart body was purchased in Europe then shipped to Oregon where the owner built the frame and Kart drivetrain. The body was painted to match his 1:1 scale model 1962 camper. The bus and Kart were recently shown at the Bus Pilots Association 15th Annual Family Reunion in Boise, Idaho
