City drivers on a budget need look no further than the Toyota Aygo. Toyota's small car is great to drive, will fit in nearly any parking space and is very reliable. The engine is tiny but it's more than capable of battling it out in the cut and thrust of town traffic. There isn't much boot space, but the low list price and running costs make up for this. Identical in all but badges and some exterior body panels to Peugeot's 107 and Citroen's C1, it's worth shopping around to see which offers the best deal.

Citroen C1 review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/citroen/c1/micro-car/review
Apologies for the re-upload, check out or new end tile.
The Citroen C1 is a car with no pretence of luxury whatsoever, despite a styling update in April 2012. It's put together at a factory in Poland, alongside its near identical sister cars, the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo. Inside, the C1 has a cabin fashioned from hard plastics and painted metal pillars, but it's well designed and feels carefully put together. The entry-level VT feels very basic, but the top-spec VTR+ trim level comes with alloy wheels, Bluetooth and a leather steering wheel as standard. For buyers looking for cheap transport however, it has some of the lowest fuel, insurance and tax costs on the market, even though the diesel model has been dropped from the line-up.
Toyota iQ review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/toyota/iq/micro-car/review
It's not big but it is quite clever. Toyota's iQ city car is just three metres long but it can carry two adults and two small children - and is very well equipped. It's at its best around towns, where its compact size makes it easy to park.Running costs are low but if you intend to rely on the iQ as your only car, think carefully about the kind of trips you make. For example, you do have to choose between passenger space or luggage space -- you can't have both.
MINI Cooper hatchback review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/mini/mini/hatchback2/review
Unlike the 1959 original, today's BMW-developed MINI is an expensive 'premium' small hatchback. That hasn't stopped thousands flooding the roads, and an extensive options list means it's easy to make every MINI feel unique. Excellent resale values and economical engines make owning a MINI cheaper than you'd think, too. Six versions, from the basic First to the high performance John Cooper Works offer something for everyone, unless you need much space for luggage or rear passengers, that is. All versions share the same quality feel and are brilliant fun to drive.

Suzuki Swift review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/suzuki/swift/hatchback/review
Although it doesn't wear a popular badge like the Ford Fiesta or Volkswagen Polo, the Suzuki Swift is a brilliant choice and one of the cheapest cars in this class. Only a 1.2-litre petrol engine is available, but it offers enough power for city driving as well as impressive fuel economy. A more efficient diesel engine, will be available in the spring of 2011. Front and rear passengers have plenty of space, but the boot is only really big enough for the weekly shopping.

Hyundai i10 review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/hyundai/i10/micro-car/review
First introduced in 2008 - the i10 city car has been a huge hit for Korean firm Hyundai. To build on that success, the new model offers fresh engines, including an ultra-efficient 1.0-litre petrol, as well as a more powerful version of the 1.25-litre engine from the previous model. The looks have been changed too, with the hexagonal grille from the Hyundai ix35 SUV at the front and tweaked lights at the rear.
Toyota Yaris 2006 - 2011 review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/toyota/yaris/hatchback/video
Toyota's small car family has grown in recent times, with the addition of the Smart ForTwo rivalling iQ citycar. While the Yaris looks conservatively styled in comparison to the newcomer, it's still a real contender for those who feel that the current crop of superminis is a little on the large side, but don't want a tiny citycar like the Smart or iQ. Reliable, dependable and with a impressive safety rating, the Yaris that is spacious inside, but small enough to squeeze through the tightest city streets. A sliding rear bench, and interior trim that contains an antibacterial coating it's also child friendly. With light steering and a supple ride, it's best for town trips, but it's still a capable motorway companion. Our favourite model is the diesel engined 1.4-litre D4-D.

Nissan Micra review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/nissan/micra/hatchback/review
Where the old Micra split opinion with its oddball styling, this new car was designed to appeal to a global audience. It has lost some of its charm in the process - and inside feels a little cheap. It still gets a lot of the basics right, with a cabin roomy enough for five adults, and a reasonably sized boot. Unfortunately, it's not particularly fun to drive and the cheapest models do without some necessary equipment.
Volkswagen up! review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/volkswagen/up/hatchback/review
The up! is Volkswagen's brand-new city car and the smallest model in the range. It's designed to take on rivals like the Fiat 500 and Toyota Aygo and offers excellent value for money while maintaining VW's high levels of quality. Its clean-cut design and efficient, fun to drive three-cylinder petrol engine should prove a hit with a crop of young customers. A starting price of £7,995 means this is a VW that's affordable, too. As a result, the up! takes the crown as CarBuyer's Best City Car for 2012.

Smart Fortwo review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/smart/fortwo/micro-car/review
If you're strictly a city driver, then the Smart ForTwo could be the perfect choice. The unusual looks make it a head-turner, while its minuscule dimensions mean it's incredibly easy to park. It's as wide as it is long, so you can even leave it parked at right angles to the kerb!
Audi A1 review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/audi/a1/audi-a1/review
The A1 is the smallest and cheapest new Audi on sale today but don't think that means the German firm has compromised its focus on quality in any way. All of the trademark Audi values, including comfort, luxury and impeccable build quality are present, making the A1 a credible rival to the MINI, Citroen DS3 and Alfa Romeo MiTo. The good news is because it's slightly newer and more expensive than all its rivals, exclusivity is guaranteed.

Kia Picanto review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/kia/picanto/hatchback/review
Latest-generation Picanto offers a more upmarket feel than the car it replaces. Bold, chunky styling helps to give a more premium appearance, while the classier interior is well laid out and looks expensive. It's now offered in three and five-door bodystyles -- the former has a sporty appearance, the latter provides extra practicality.
Kia Rio review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/kia/rio/hatchback/review
The Rio is Kia's entry in the supermini class and a cheaper alternative to the Ford Fiesta. All-new for 2011, it continues Kia's march upmarket and benefits from smart, contemporary styling, generous space inside and an appealing engine range -- two diesels (1.1-litre and 1.4) and two petrols (1.25 and 1.4).
Ford Focus review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/ford/focus/hatchback/review
Talk about important! Some 1.3 million Ford Focus models have been sold since the original car arrived in 1998 and with fierce competition from Volkswagen's Golf, this latest, third generation 2011 car is the most crucial yet. It's all-new, with a fresh look, host of high-tech gadgets and a super-efficient range of modern petrol and diesel engines.
